Planning a ceremony is equal parts excitement, intention and instinct. You want someone who understands your style, your story, and the atmosphere you want to create — someone who can translate who you are into something beautiful, personal and completely un–cookie-cutter. That’s where I come in.
I’m Richard Jansen, a wedding celebrant crafting ceremonies for the curious, the stylish and the quietly rebellious. My approach is thoughtful, modern and deeply collaborative. I don’t believe in templates or strict formulas; I believe in creating something that feels alive, elegant and unmistakably you.
Couples come to me because they want a ceremony that feels designed — considered, authentic and intentional — with a voice that’s warm but not theatrical, elevated but not overly formal. My background spans global events, Royal occasions, design-led experiences, editorial storytelling and a former life in the West End (The Phantom of the Opera included). All of this now folds quietly into my work: presence without performance, structure without stiffness, narrative without cliché.
A ceremony that feels handcrafted, grounded and stylish — the part of the day people talk about long after the last glass has been cleared. You’ll have unlimited online meetings, so we can take the time we need. No stopwatches, no rushed calls, no disappearing after the first draft. Just steady, generous support.
My fee is £550 — transparent, inclusive and simple. This covers:
• All travel within Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Buckinghamshire and London’s surrounding areas
• A full in-person rehearsal
• Unlimited online meetings
• Writing, research, creative development and script refinement
• Coordination with photographers, videographers, musicians and planners
• Access to my all-important little black book of trusted creatives and suppliers
There are no hidden extras, no surcharges, no “package upgrades.” One fee. Complete support.
We begin with a calm, unhurried conversation — the kind where you feel seen, heard and understood. You tell me your story, your taste, the energy you want in the room, and the details that matter. Together, we explore rituals, readings, moments of intimacy, humour or quiet rebellion that feel true to you.
I write your ceremony with the same care you’d expect from a designer, an editor or a storyteller: every word chosen, every moment intentional. You’ll see drafts, offer notes, refine ideas and watch the ceremony take shape around who you are.
I hold the space with presence, warmth and quiet confidence — guiding the ceremony so it unfolds naturally, meaningfully, and in a way that feels effortlessly your own.
