What is your most memorable wedding?
My best friend's beautiful wedding during lockdown where we were having to change everything in the last 24 hours and ended up with photos in a car park in the pouring rain... but none of us will ever forget how beautiful their love story was, or how crazy the day was!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Authentic, creative, rebellious, inclusive, innovative
What about your business are you most proud of?
Inspiring couples to create the wedding ceremony they truly desired but never thought they were allowed - the answer is never no, it's always "Give me a second to work out how we do that"
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Be You .... worry less about pleasing everyone and be true to what's in your heart.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Asking guests to nominate their favourite song, playing them all throughout the day and then guests receiving a CD/USB of the playlist for their car journey home.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Definitely starts with a huge cuppa and a slice of cake and a no obligation chat... I'll get to know you a bit better and you can work out whether I might be the right celebrant for you!
If we think we're a good match, we can talk in more detail about what you want for your ceremony and costs.
Over the following months I speak frequently with you both (or all of you for thruples) either individually or together and find out all I can about your love story
I'll write up your ceremony and keep sharing drafts with you, tweaking it to your ideas, adding in new rituals and elements.
And when it's close to perfect we'll give it a dry run at a rehearsal, before unleashing it on the big day as your loved ones witness your commitment to each other.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
I'm currently working on a pirate themed wedding, including full costume, a ship-mate ring blessing and rum salute with the pirate crew!
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
Is there such a thing? But keeping talking, being realistic, always doing what I promise I will and finding solutions to whatever issues come up can help to keep the anxiety levels as low as possible!
What do you love most about your job?
Remember why you're getting married in the first place .... and let someone else i.e. a wedding planner do the hard work!
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
Undoubtedly the vows, where couples and thruples are sharing those beautiful & personal stories of why they fell in love, their promise to always be together and pledging their hopes for the future. Oh and that first kiss 💋!
