Pet attendance is treated as a small but structured workstream within the wider wedding plan.
Typically, we are brought in by a planner, venue or couple once a pet is being considered, and we then:
Our service is designed to support existing planning structures, not replace them, adding reassurance, clarity and predictability around an element that often sits outside standard wedding workflows.
We provide specialist coordination when couples wish to include an animal (most commonly a dog) in a wedding or event. This includes planning, welfare oversight, venue alignment and the sourcing of professional, insured handlers, ensuring animal attendance is calm, safe and operationally sound.
As early as possible is ideal, especially where venues have specific conditions or where a ceremony is licensed. That said, we’re also used to stepping in later to bring structure and reassurance where plans already exist.
Yes. Where appropriate, we can help couples and planners think through meaningful and creative ways for animals to be involved, always balanced with welfare, safety and the practicalities of the day.
In some very simple, low-risk scenarios that may be possible. However, particularly at venues or around ceremonies which involves timings, access restrictions, insurance considerations and multiple stakeholders. Professional handlers are trained to work within these environments and to prioritise the animal’s welfare while respecting venue rules and the flow of the day.
We don't ecourage or discourage animal attendance, we approach it on a case-by-case basis with animal welfare as the starting point.
Through Pet Care Hubs we work closely with local animal welfare organisations across London, Lisbon, Dublin & Algarve via our charity directory, which keeps us grounded in what is genuinely appropriate for animals, not just what looks good on the day. We’re very conscious of not placing animals into situations that are uncomfortable, overwhelming or unsafe for them.
That said, animal attendance isn’t always a fixed yes or no. In some cases, concerns around anxiety, unfamiliar environments or behaviour can be thoughtfully addressed in advance, for example through gradual acclimatisation, working with trainers, or introducing elements of the day (such as photographers or settings) in a calmer context first.
Our role is to help couples explore inclusion in a way that feels kind, realistic and respectful of the animal by putting support in place.
We manage and pay chaperones & specialists directly. Couples receive a clear budget, without needing to coordinate or contract additional suppliers themselves.
A practical document outlining how animal attendance will be managed, including timings, permitted spaces, welfare considerations and responsibilities. It can be shared with venues, planners, relevant suppliers and insurers where required.
We work across intimate ceremonies, micro weddings and larger, high-end celebrations. The focus is less on size and more on ensuring the right level of planning for the setting and the animal involved.
