I am fifty something year old woman with three adult children. I lived in the Middle East for almost 20 years. While out there I was an airline steward, a kickboxing instructor and an after school activity coordinator. Since returning to the UK, I have completed a degree in Glass & Ceramics, built giant puppets and lead community workshops in printmaking, and puppetry. Becoming a celebrant is my next big adventure.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

As I am newly qualified and trained, at the time of writing this answer I have yet to officiate a wedding. I am hoping to change this very soon. The most memorable wedding I have attended as a guest would be my niece and her beau tying the knot in Portugal.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Relaxed, witty, offbeat, Pagan, inclusive

What about your business are you most proud of?

I am proud of myself for realising that their are many activities and professions a person can have in life and they don't have to be one at a time. I am setting myself up as an Independent Celebrant, but I am also a community artist. Perhaps one day the two paths will cross. Wouldn't that be lovely?

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

This is your day, and yes you want to have everyone there to have the best time. Plan your ceremony with a budget in mind, and stick to it.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Magical Handfasting

Wedding or Commitment Ceremony

Includes-

Initial 20 minute telephone conversation for you to get a ‘feel’ for me.

A face to face or Teams/Zoom meeting for an hour so we can all have a chat about what You want to happen in your ceremony.

I will give you a timeline of what you can expect from me and when is will arrive. I will post this and email it.

I will send you my Questionnaire which will come at intervals, some of which you fill out together, some fill out alone. This will enable me to write a script that will have a few nice surprises for both of you on the day.

I will research up to four readings or poems that I think will fit you and your day. You may of course add to this and be read by yourself or one of your party.

I am happy to assist you to find the words you need to express yourself with your vows.

Follow up letters after I receive a questionnaire section (posted and emailed)

Follow up phone calls for any clarification needed

An outline of script for confirmation we are on the same page

An In person meeting at the venue if possible before the ceremony (if not possible, a run through via Teams/Zoom of the full ceremony

Final script approval (except the surprises), and this will be fully personalised to both of you

On The Day

Extended Handfasting Ceremony with decorative cords/ribbons supplied to keep.

In this package, the Handfasting is the main body of the ceremony. I will call the quarters, and ask for the blessing, or if you have four of your party to take on this role, I can assist them with the script.

Sound system set up if necessary.

Guiding of the ceremony and a presentation script with poems and vows printed on gorgeous paper for you to keep.

Where & When?

This can be held in Your Garden, a beautiful meadow, woodland area, on the beach, castle grounds, in the pub, anywhere really. As this is not a legal marriage ceremony, the legalities will have to be done before or after, or not at all if that isn’t required. If you would like to have your ceremony during a New Moon festival, I am more than happy to discuss. Timing is dependent on the venue. If, for example it is to be in your own back garden, then anytime you like. If you are looking to have it in a more public place, such as your local beach, I can look into the permissions required for you.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

The sense of being part of a beautiful story. The atmosphere, the expressions on the faces of the couple as they hear their favourite song during the ceremony.
