What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Allow some time on the day to be by yourselves away from your family and guests, and the photographer. Just ten minutes allows you to relax and recharge.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
At the wedding of a bride who worked for Penguin Books the welcome notice outside the ceremony room was like a classic Penguin Book cover with the couples names as authors and the Penguin logo as a bride and groom
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After initial contact with a couple I like to discuss their expectations and what sort of service they want from me so I can give them a cost. Between one and two months before the big day we have a face to face meeting, ideally this is at the venue so I can see how the day will proceed and spot any potential issues. At any time though the couple can contact me with any changes they want. This can even be during the day itself.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
Secretly swapping the wedding car for a tractor and trailer during the ceremony.
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
On the day taking the worry about the progress and timings from the wedding party and looking after it for them
What do you love most about your job?
Engage a toastmaster. He or she will see that your day runs as you want it. Weddings can be spoiled by lack of communication to the guests, and between suppliers on the day.
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
When the get the first sight of each other in their finery and realise that this is really happening
