What does a wedding celebrant actually do?
As a celebrant, I create and deliver a completely personalised wedding ceremony just for you. Unlike a registrar, your ceremony isn’t limited in wording or structure. Together, we design something meaningful, heartfelt, and entirely reflective of your relationship.
Are your ceremonies legally binding?
In England, celebrant-led ceremonies are not legally binding on their own. Many couples choose to complete the legal paperwork separately at a registry office, allowing their wedding day ceremony to be entirely personal and flexible.
How does the process work?
We begin with a relaxed conversation to see if we’re the right fit. Once booked, we’ll have in-depth planning meetings where I get to know your story and what matters most to you. I then write your bespoke ceremony script, which we refine together before the big day.
Can we include personal vows?
Absolutely. I offer gentle guidance and support to help you write vows that feel natural and sincere. If you’d prefer not to write your own, I can create something beautiful for you.
Do you offer symbolic rituals?
Yes, if they feel meaningful to you. This might include handfasting, blended family elements, or other symbolic touches. We only include rituals that genuinely fit your story.
How long is the ceremony?
Typically between 20–40 minutes, depending on what you include. We’ll shape the timing so it feels beautifully paced — never rushed.
Do you travel?
Yes, I cover Leeds and Yorkshire, and I’m happy to travel further if needed. Travel details can be discussed when we chat.
How far in advance should we book?
Popular dates, especially spring and summer Saturdays, can book well in advance. If you have your date secured, it’s always worth getting in touch early.

What if we’re nervous about speaking in front of everyone?
That’s completely normal — and you won’t be alone up there.
Part of my role is to guide you gently through the ceremony so you feel steady and supported. We’ll talk through everything in advance, and on the day I’ll create a calm, relaxed atmosphere so you can focus on each other rather than the room.
