What is your most memorable wedding?
Caitriona Balfe (from Outlander) and Anthony McGill ( Manager of the Fratellis) was amazing as there were some amazing simple touches throughout, and then also a beautiful wedding that I planned and coordinated at Longleat! I loved that Kate and Ben (the couple) had a sea lion feeding boat tour after the ceremony!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Stylish, fun, elegant, whimsical and beautiful.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Launching on my own and being fully booked for the first two years within a year of opening! I also am so proud of the relationships that I have made along the way, the incredible testimonials and also completing my industry accredited qualification.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Always remember that the day goes by so quickly, that although you have so many ideas, they may not necessarily all need to be done and that the budget is something you need to agree on from the moment you start.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I absolutely adore photos of the couples, I love homemade and DIY elements - as a fellow crafter myself this is something I absolutely get stuck in with. Also consider your guests and their age or stage of life. I love asking about new mums or mums to be on the guest list as creating a little 'Mum Space' is always appreciated - somewhere in the shade, somewhere private with all the amenities they need.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After exchanging a few emails we will arrange a face to face video call or in person where I listen to everything about you both as a couple and what you are looking for. I have a portfolio armed with questions to go through with you, and then from there we talk openly about budgets. I go through my services with you and we tailor the elements to what it is you need and want. From there I pull together a bespoke quotation of my services and the costs. Once agreed, and contract signed and retainer fee paid, I am yours! We will set up some styling sessions, look at flowers in season and then create your perfect floral design. Then on the day I make sure the day goes to our carefully curated plan and you have the very best day.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
I don't think anything is necessarily that unusual because more often than not there is always a fab story behind the request. I love to embrace the extraordinary and fun, from an elopement wedding with only 2 weeks to plan, to a dance class through the wedding, and a mass flash mob! There have been some real corkers and I welcome them!
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
My favourite moments - ah there are so many. I love the moment I finish decorating, looking around the venue knowing how beautiful and clean and crisp it is before the guests descend. Then throughout the wedding day, just before the couple see each other - that first look is priceless. Then the moment after they are married - I love to whisk them away for a glass of bubbles and to take some time to one another to just digest what has happened and glow in the happiness. Then the speeches- these can be absolutely brilliant and no matter how long you plan for - with buffer... they always last longer... but then it is always beautiful to hear the love and joy in the room.
