Kathy is trained by the IPC with a NOCN level 3 qualification and had her passion rewarded by winning the "Best Bestpoke Ceremony - Berkshire" Celebrant Award 2022 from Lux Life Magazine.
Previous to being a Celebrant, Kathy spent over 30 years in hospitality, events, and entertainment. Kathy is incredibly passionate about momentous occasions and strives to provide a bespoke service to all clients. She loves honouring life's precious milestones and can tailor her services to suit all kinds of events. Whether you are having an extravagant soiree or an intimate get-together, Kathy will endeavour to bring your vision to life for your special day.
On her writing style, Kathy says : "The most important thing to me is that the script I write and the words I use, are YOUR words. Words and phrases that make you comfortable, warm and uplifted. You will read it and think "that's us" and your friends and family will feel the same. It's about representing your characters, your values and your bond. As we get to know each other I can start to suggest what sort of vows or ring exchange words might suit you, what readings you may like depending on your style. That's why the initial meetings together with my couple's questionnaire are so important in getting to know you so that I can deliver your perfect ceremony."

What is your most memorable wedding?
It sounds a cliche but they all have their moments. One that springs to mind is a suprise wedding at the Bride's 50th Birthday party. The party was in full swing, the bride went off to change into full bridal gown and came back in to 150 shocked guests. Another one is one coming up which I know is going to be memorable - a wonderful couple in their 70's who have found love 2nd time around and are getting married in the function room at their assisted living home, with all the staff acting as their wedding planners. These are the ones that really get me and remind me how brilliant it is that you really can do a celebrant led ceremony wherever you want and with no restrictions at all.

Warm, engaging, light hearted, uplifting, memorable
What about your business are you most proud of?
The reviews from my clients. I am also proud of myself for pursuing the set up of my business which was halted almost as soon as it started by the pandemic and starting it in my 50's, finally doing something I really love.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It's your day. Family is important but it's your day, have it your way, whatever that is.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I've done a few weddings where the couples baby is the ring bearer - however young, we have the rings in a little organza pouch in a ribbon around their necks and a member of the family brings them up. I also like the touch of an older child being made a "Ring Supervisor" complete with sunglasses, briefcase and badge guarding the ring and then bringing it up the aisle security guard style.
I also love the fact that as Celebrants we can mix cultural, spirital and religous elements, truly creating something unique for that couple.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After the intial enquiry I suggest a complimentary 30 minute discovery call and send a link to my calendar where the couple can book a slot. If they want to go ahead, I issue the initial paperwork and a deposit invoice, together with a timeline of roughly when we will complete various tasks. Roughly 6-8 months before we will start the process with a couples questionnaire, followed by a further meeting (or video if prefered) and we take it from there. I offer a rehearsal either face to face at the venue if practical, or by video which seems to be more popular.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
Probably the surprise wedding.
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
Great communication and ensuring my couple know exactly how things are going to go, what I am going to say and that they can contact me any time leading up to the day if they have questions.
What do you love most about your job?
It's your day. Family is important but it's your day, have it your way, whatever that is.
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
It's got to be the Bride coming down the aisle and nodding to the Groom that he can turn around and just seeing both of their faces.
