Kate's Handmade Weddings Full Description
My aim is very simple. Every wedding is individual, and unique, and I will always treat it as such. I decided on the name Kate’s Handmade Weddings not just because I can handmake all sorts of things for your wedding, but because each wedding is tailor made to your requirements. It might just be helping you get started, maybe coming up with a theme, managing your budget, or picking up the reins when your work pressures and the stress levels get too much. I am here to help, even if you thought you would never be the kind of person who needed a wedding planner!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Can do, friendly, pragmatic, creative, and useful!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't turn into a bridezilla. Be prepared to ask for help and let others take some of the strain.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Every wedding is different and I love working with the bride to make it special. I recently made a load of shortbread biscuits, and put them with Yorkshire tea bags and individual pots of home-made marmalade into little favour bags for a bride getting married in Cape Town. It was a little touch of home for her before she started her new life in South Africa.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I always chat with a couple before they commission me to plan their wedding to make sure there is a good fit. Wedding planning is all about trust and it's important to establish that. My job is to deliver the best day possible so that means working with the couple to find out what there vision is, then make that happen. It could be a simple venue search or a full wedding planning service or anything in between. What's important for me is that the couple know they can ask for my advice and help, and no problem is too big or too small.

How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?

Lots of communication, planning and detailed notes!

What do you love most about your job?

Seeing the look on everyone's faces when the big day happens. It's a very special thing to be part of.
