What is your most memorable wedding?
It's impossible to pick one! Guests gathered round a fire pit for a ceremony as the sun goes down, fifty bridesmaids walking across the sand for a beach wedding, an intimate ceremony on a cliff top, including a wedding as a surprise for guest who thought they'd arrived for a naming ceremony, surprising the bride with guests who had flown across the world to be there, the canine ring bearers, the horses and other pets ........ so many special moments it's impossible to pick just one.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed. Reassuring. Friendly. Humour. Professional.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm so proud to have been nominated for local and national awards for a high standard of Customer Service.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do not underestimate the value of your ceremony. It is the part where you stand in front of invited family and friends to declare your love and commitment to each other. That is what getting married or renewing your wedding vows is all about.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Every ceremony has a little personal touch to it, that's why you choose a celebrant-led ceremony. Wedding vows written from the heart are always so very special - and I do love it when there is a Best Dog acting as ring bearer!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Every couple has different needs and wishes, so there is not a typical process. One thing is certain though, there are always several face to face and telephone/video meetings, I make as many amendments to your ceremony as a couple needs, we always visit the venue to help advise on choreography for a ceremony and a rehearsal always takes place.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
Every ceremony is unique whether short and sweet or including additional aspects. some of the things that I have planned over the years include the bride arriving on horseback, a communal anointing of a new baby and cutting the cake as part of the ceremony. I have also planned a ceremony to take place AFTER the wedding breakfast.
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
If you know how things are going to go on the day, it makes everything a lot less stressed. Rehearsing the ceremony (without saying the vows etc!) is so helpful for putting a couple at their ease.
What do you love most about your job?
The reason you will contact me is because you want your ceremony to recognise your love but you also want something relevant and personal. Think outside the box! What would you really like? It's your ceremony and my job is to help you. The part of my job I love the most is meeting clients and helping them plan the perfect day for them.
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
When the groom turns around to see his bride walking towards him.
