I’m Sarah, a Humanist Wedding Celebrant based in Northern Ireland, creating relaxed, meaningful and genuinely personal wedding ceremonies for couples who want something a little bit different. Your ceremony is written completely from scratch – no templates, no copy-and-paste, and nothing that doesn’t feel like you. I take the time to really get to know you as a couple, so your ceremony reflects your story, your values and the tone you want for your day, whether that’s romantic and heartfelt, light-hearted and fun, or a perfect blend of both. As a Humanist celebrant, I offer non-religious ceremonies that still carry depth, warmth and meaning. You can include symbolic elements such as handfasting, ring warming, unity rituals or readings chosen by you, or keep things beautifully simple. There are no rules or scripts to follow – everything is shaped around what matters most to you. Couples often tell me they feel instantly at ease with me, and that’s something I really value. From our first chat through to your wedding day, I’ll guide you through the process in a calm, supportive and friendly way, making the whole experience feel enjoyable and stress-free. On the day itself, I’ll lead your ceremony with confidence, warmth and just the right amount of humour, while keeping the focus exactly where it should be – on the two of you. If you’re looking for a celebrant who is professional, approachable and genuinely invested in telling your story well, I’d love to be part of your day.
I have several!! But one is particular was a couple who had a themed Alice in Wonderland wedding. They had a huge marquee in their garden decked out like a mad hatters tea party, complete with the Cheshire Cat!
The actual ceremony was right by a beautiful waterfall and the bride arrived in a Motorbike sidecar driven by the Mad Hatter! It was a hoot!
Uplifting, celebratory, a bit of craic, light hearted, fun
The opportunity is gives me to meet and work with so many lovely couples. I love to see how everyone is so unique, from the script we develop to the flowers, dresses, decor and flowers. Oh and not forgetting the fabulous shoes!! I get to visit some wonderful venues all around Northern Ireland and I love any excuse to get on a nice frock and a bit of lippy for a wedding day!
Book early!
A flowergirl pulling her baby cousin flower girl down the aisle in a white wooden cart, with fluffy blankets and bows. THE CUTEST!
Initial no obligation video call to explain the process of booking, legal requirements and ceremony planning. Usually a meet up for coffee, script planning and getting a sense of what a couple want and developing a first draft script to be agreed in preparation for the big day. And of course, the day itself. Every couple is different and by that my process and approach is very flexible to meet the individual needs of the couple.
A burning bowl fire and unity candle ceremony. It was class!
Spreadsheets!! And good planning!
Wow - too many to choose one! Honestly, there isn't a wedding I dont have a favourite moment from, they are all wonderful and memorable.
