What is your most memorable wedding?
So far it's probably a fabulous castle wedding in Kent. One of the grooms was a graphic designer, who had designed a logo for them, there was a personalised neon sign in the bar, personalised toilet paper, and even personalised condoms! We had an owl ring bearer, fire eaters, and the most AMAZING firework display in the evening. It was a fabulous event with the first dance performed in front of a massive LED wall playing videos of them. Totally amazing, it reflected them perfectly. I will honestly never forget it!
A very close second is a festival-style wedding in Sussex, this couple and all their friends were SO MUCH FUN! It was so satisfying to see everything we had planned in such detail come together and look exactly as they, we, had envisaged. A dance tent, a groomsman walking down the aisle to "I'm sexy and I know it", festoon lights, bright colourful bunting and flowers and a cocktail van for starters!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, relaxed, stress-free, confident, unique
What about your business are you most proud of?
That we take the time to get to know all our couples so that we can confidently produce a wedding as unique as they are.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't get pressured to have things you don't want because it's either traditional or trendy. If you don't like cake, don't have one, have donuts, or nothing. No one will care! Do what you want, it's your day :-)
Also, meet up with your suppliers, you only want people you like to be there on your wedding day!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Personalised condoms has to be up there!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After initial contact we'd arrange a time to meet with you both, we'll chat through any thoughts and ideas you have, your budget and we'll get to know you a little. From there we will suggest 3x suppliers for each aspect - initially venue. No worries if you don't like any of the first suggestions, we'll keep going until we find exactly the right fit.
We'll produce shared documents to help you keep track of budget, make sure all licences are applied for in time, check we are looking a the right capacity in a venue etc.
We focus on key suppliers first (venue, marquee, caterers, electric etc), then come down to the decorative bits once the initial stage is pinned down.
We'll be there right through to chat through anything and make sure we are on track. On the day we'll be there for the duration, either one of us, or a team of people depending on your numbers and if you need us to staff the event.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
A log cutting instead of cake cutting - it's a german and Australian tradition and this couple didn't eat cake!
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
We've got nearly 20 years experience organising a huge variety of events, we are used to this, nothing really phases us!
What do you love most about your job?
Sort out your budget, without that aspect you don't know what suppliers you can look at or afford. You will save yourself time and stress ultimately. If you need a hand with just that aspect, most planners will be happy to book a couple of hours to help get you on your way.
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
When the ceremony is first over and the couple emerges as married partners. Everyone is less tense, super happy and ready for a party!
