The ancients knew a thing or two about love. In fact, they had at least 7 words for it, but I’ll bet you have even more! That’s the beauty of a love story, no two are the same. And I can’t wait to help you discover how you want to share yours.
If you book me as your wedding celebrant, firstly - hooray! Secondly, here's what to expect:
We'll meet as many times as we need so that I really get to understand you and your story; who you are, how you met, what your love is like, and the kind of ceremony you're after. Here we might discuss readings, symbolic ideas and fun things to personalise your special day.
Once I've got all these goodies, I go into my writing den and emerge with a first draft. Here, I draw on all my experience as a Classicist, a storyteller, and a professional writer, crafting something totally unique - and always written from scratch.
I share this draft with you, and with your review, we shape it into something pretty close to perfect. Homer would have been proud!
I can also support with vow-writing, and other storytelling elements of the ceremony.
Finally, on the day itself I coordinate with your other suppliers, so that - like a good Greek Chorus - we're all singing in harmomy. And then comes my favourite bit. The actor in me has been waiting in the wings, but now I get to emerge and share your love story with all your friends and family. What a treat!

What is the difference between a celebrant and a registrar?
I’m an independent (or civil) celebrant, which means while I can’t perform a legally binding ceremony, I do have the freedom to craft a wedding celebration that is totally unique to you and your story. It can have spiritual elements if you like, but equally it doesn’t have to. And it can take place anywhere. The sky’s the limit (although that would be a bit of a tricky venue).
Registrars, on the other hand, have the power to perform legally binding weddings, but are restricted to a prescribed script with little room for personalisation. While I’m biased, I do believe an independent celebrant is the most open-minded and open-hearted way to get just the right ceremony for you, as I'll take the time getting to know you to create a wedding that is the truest reflection of your values and your story. As opposed to meeting you on the morning and reading out the same script I've read ten times already that day.
