Dorset Wedding Co. Full Description

Your wedding. Your way. I’m here to make sure it all comes together.

I’m Harriet, founder of Dorset Wedding Co., and I’m a wedding planner and coordinator based in Dorset, working across Dorset and the South West.

I’m not the kind of planner who disappears into the background with a clipboard. I’m there in the thick of it, managing suppliers, keeping timelines on track, sorting the unexpected, making sure your guests know where they need to be and, when necessary, doing whatever needs doing to make the day work.

Whether you want someone beside you from the very beginning or you've planned everything yourself and simply don't want to be the person running your wedding on the day, I can step in and take it from there.

From finding the right suppliers and managing your budget, to creating detailed timelines, coordinating setup and pack-down, liaising with everyone involved and making sure you actually get to enjoy your wedding. I take care of the details so you can be present for the moments that matter.

My approach is personal, practical and completely centred around you. I don't believe your wedding should look or feel like anyone else's. It's your ideas, your people, your day, I'm here to bring it all together.

And yes, I'll probably have a radio in my hand, a running timeline in my pocket and be fixing something you didn't even know was happening. That's exactly where I like to be.

Planning a wedding in Dorset or the South West? I'd love to hear what you're planning.

Hi, I’m Harriet, founder of The Dorset Wedding Co. I’m a former West End actress turned wedding planner, and I’m all about creating weddings that feel completely like you, not a copy of someone else’s day. I’m here to take away the stress, bring the ideas to life and be the calm (and occasionally very enthusiastic!) person in your corner throughout the planning process. Whether you’re planning a huge celebration, an intimate day or something completely different, I’d love to hear what you’re

She is so positive, relaxed and welcoming
I worked with Harriet on a recent wedding which was a total joy! She is so positive, relaxed and welcoming. Nothing was too much of a problem and she trusted and collaborated with suppliers to help create the vision the couple had for their wedding day. She worked above and beyond, putting in a lot of hours in the days leading up to the wedding to make sure everything came together perfectly. Throughout the planning process she was responsive with her emails. She kept suppliers up to date with

there was never a "that’s not possible"
Harriet was an absolute lifesaver! We had a tight, 5-month timeline for a very ambitious wedding and she took all our stress away from day one. She is incredibly responsive and handled all our late-night texts and unconventional requests with ease. With Harriet, there was never a "that’s not possible", she made everything work beautifully while strictly respecting our budget. On the day itself, she handled all the behind-the-scenes problem-solving so quietly and efficiently that we could just re

we met Harriet, the whole planning process was easy
If any bride would ask me what one thing stood out from planning my wedding would be, it’s that the best decision was hiring Harriet as our wedding planner. Being a bride with a quite clear vision and big dreams for my wedding, it wasn’t easy to let someone else take over a huge part of the organization, but as soon as we met Harriet, the whole planning process became so easy. She’s not only the most supportive and organized person I’ve probably ever met, but completely loves her job. She never

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What does a wedding coordinator actually do?

A wedding coordinator steps in to take the plans you've already made and make sure they actually happen. I manage your suppliers, create and oversee your timeline, coordinate setup and logistics, solve any last-minute problems and make sure you and your guests know where you need to be, so you can enjoy your wedding rather than run it.

Do you work with LGBTQ+ couples?

Absolutely. Everyone deserves a wedding that feels completely like them. As a gay woman myself, creating an inclusive, welcoming and genuinely personal experience for my couples is incredibly important to me.

Do you offer full wedding planning?

Yes. Full planning means I'm alongside you from the beginning, helping with suppliers, budgets, logistics, timelines, design and all the decisions that come with planning a wedding. I'll then coordinate everything on the day so you can actually experience the wedding you've spent so long planning.

We don't need full planning or coordination. Can we just have some advice?

Yes! I also offer The Wedding Round Up. A one-off planning check-in for couples who have planned their wedding themselves but want an experienced planner to look over everything. We'll identify anything you've missed, talk through logistics and leave you with a clear plan of what needs doing next.

Do you have a minimum wedding budget?

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all minimum budget. Every wedding is different, so I'd rather have a conversation about what you're planning, what matters most to you and how I can help.

Do you only work in Dorset?

Dorset is home, but I work across the South West and love travelling for weddings. If you're planning a wedding outside Dorset, get in touch and we can chat about your plans.

Do you manage my suppliers?

Absolutely. I'll liaise with your suppliers before the wedding, make sure everyone understands the timeline and knows where they need to be, and manage communication on the day. If a supplier has a question, I want them coming to me, not you.

Do you help with setup and pack-down?

Yes. Depending on your package, I can coordinate and oversee everything from ceremony setup and tables to décor, garden games and the final pack-down. My aim is that you don't have to worry about what's happening behind the scenes.

I've planned everything myself. Do I really need a coordinator?

That's exactly who my coordination service is for. You don't need help planning your wedding , you need someone to take everything you've organised and make it happen on the day. My job is to make sure you're not the person checking whether the caterer has arrived, organising the DJ or setting out the chairs while you're supposed to be getting married.

When do you get involved for on the day co-ordination?

For my wedding coordination service, I officially come on board around four weeks before your wedding. This gives us plenty of time to get to know your plans, speak to your suppliers, create your final timeline and make sure every detail is covered before the big day.
