What is your most memorable wedding?
All the weddings I've done are memorable in their own special way! I can't pick!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Simple, clean, individual, relaxed, involved
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am most proud of being trusted to create the entire flow of my client's wedding day. Having to get each supplier onboard and up to speed and making sure they know where they need to be and when. I love being able to spin all ten plates with my two arms.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Choose your suppliers with care! They will be the ones who will make or break your wedding day. Have an initial consultation and gauge whether you will be able to work alongside them on and trust them with the most important day of your life.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I did a multi-cultural Ghanian-Jewish wedding and the couple created Kente print Kippots for their guests to wear. There was also a Chuppah draped in similar prints.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Every booking starts with an initial consultation. I listen to what the couple wants for their wedding day and talk about how I can help, while also dropping in little tidbits of advice. Depending on the service booked, I will either start looking for suppliers right away, or, a bit closer to the wedding, start contacting all booked suppliers. I'll essentially be the main point of contact for the suppliers, keeping them updated and sharing with them a detailed plan of the day that I've created.
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
By being me! I'm very meticulous, leaving no stone unturned. Things that couples don't think of, I'm already on it. On the day itself, I'm not shy about running around and relaying information between the couple and their suppliers. If we're behind schedule, I'm very proactive in shifting things around so all the important parts of the day go ahead.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the on the day coordination because that's when I get to execute everything I've planned towards. The couple get to have a good time and I thrive on giving them that positive experience.
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
When designing the look and feel of a wedding, you can only really visualise how it would look until the actual day when you can finally see if what you imagined paid off. My favourite moment was when a stadium hall was transformed into a stunning room with the strategic use of spot and fairy lights. I walked into the room and gasped at how extraordinary it looked!
