As a bride, my experience with Amanda as our wedding planner was nothing short of a catastrophe. It was a decision primarily motivated by our residence outside the UK, but it quickly became a shocking display of incompetence and unreliability.
Amanda's sheer lack of organization was painfully evident, most notably during our calls. She displayed a complete disregard for even the most basic details of wedding planning, such as managing guest lists, expenses, timelines, or even handling email correspondence. To call her performance a failure would be a gross understatement. It began with her shockingly inadequate understanding of wedding logistics and an utter disinterest in conducting even the most rudimentary research about our local area.
We made countless attempts to provide feedback, via WhatsApp, emails, and Zoom calls, and urged her to improve communication, but she consistently failed to take the initiative. Instead, we found ourselves constantly chasing her for updates and information. We were forced to schedule numerous Zoom calls, each initiated by us, and repeatedly had to request that she follow a structured agenda. Shockingly, even the venue staff shared our frustrations, citing Amanda's incomprehensible emails, nonsensical schedules, and repetitive, bewildering questions. Our guests were similarly vexed, as they found themselves responding to her queries multiple times, causing considerable embarrassment.
Furthermore, Amanda's alarming lack of proactivity extended to her dealings with suppliers—she didn't even source most of them—guests, and all the intricate aspects of wedding planning. Throughout the entire process, she demonstrated an unsettling level of unreliability. Her constant mistakes not only cost us money but also inflicted headaches and massive stress upon us. Given the sheer magnitude of incompetence, frustration, embarrassment, and financial burden we endured, I strongly advise against entrusting her with any wedding planning responsibilities.
