Based in Littlehampton, West Sussex, Zest Photography is run by husband and wife duo Rod and Julie. Since 2005, they’ve been passionate about capturing the unique love stories of couples just like you. From your first meeting to the delivery of your beautiful wedding album, they focus on making the entire experience seamless and personal.
Rod and Julie specialize in a distinctive, innovative documentary style that captures the real moments of your wedding day—the laughter, the tears, the romance, and the joy. Their expert eye ensures every emotion and detail is preserved, creating a vivid story from start to finish that you’ll cherish forever.
To help you feel relaxed and confident, Rod and Julie offer a pre-wedding shoot. This is a great chance to get comfortable in front of the camera and build a connection with your photographers. On your big day, you’ll benefit from:
Zest Photography also offers a range of additional options to perfectly complement your wedding story. These can be customized to fit your style and preferences:
A big African wedding with 190 super smiley, happy guests all singing, playing instruments and dancing throughout the day...even during the service. Oh, and the most romantic First Kiss we have ever witnessed!!!
unobtrusive, natural, fun, documentary, noflash
Most of our work comes from recommendation and from meeting couples face to face. Our booking forms ask why the couples choose us and it's always down to our enthusiasm...we are VERY enthusiastic when it comes to weddings!
Your day will fly by, try and create lots of personal moments that you will remember - a perfect First Kiss for example, should be more than just a kiss and should be something to remember.
Hand made arrows shot with names engraved and shot into logs that contained moss that was carefully cultivated at home. They were the place settings!
Face to face meet up to get to know you and to show you our work. Lots of questions please, you've never done this before! After taking a small deposit (£150) and filling out a form we then write to confirm and book an Engagement or Save the Date shoot if you want one. A pre wedding meeting happens about a month before the wedding during which we cover all aspects of your day and give you loads of tips to help you enjoy and remember it. We have a quick 'posing' session - we don't pose you on the day but do give you a few tips based on your body shapes and natural stances that you can practice for the weeks leading up to the day.
On the day itself, Julie visits the girls and rod works with the boys (generally they go out and show the suits off lol). Nowadays a lot of Brides ask Julie to come in the car During to capture those wonderful tearful moments with Dad. During the ceremony, Rod generally works at the front trying to keep out of sight and capturing all of those wonderful close ups whilst Julie captures the overall feel of the service - we also look for guest reactions. Afterwards we cover confetti and Friends and Family shots (aka the dreaded formals although we make them as fun and fast as possible). We try and keep these shots to 10 minute bursts, allowing you to have a drink and a mingle in between - we find that it breaks it up nicely.
We shoot loads of candids (guests looking at your favours, families hugging, kids playing, you two having a special moment, or two, or three!) and we obviously take you out as much as you want to use the venue and get some stunning and intimate portraits to treasure.
After cutting the cake we shoot the First Dance and then stay on for a couple of hours to mingle with the guests and capture you relaxing with them as the day winds down.
Back to the office to back up the cameras and pop a sneaky peek up online for you. We then sleep - it's probably been a 14 hour day so we are pooped!
Afterwards we shortlist your shots down to about 1200 and put them up on a password protected gallery for you to share. This process can take a while as we are very busy, we like to think that the shots are worth the wait though!
Shots for albums and wall art are then chosen by you, designed by us and hand delivered to your home where possible. We like to catch up with our couples and usually find that beautiful friendships ensue lol
Oh, we do Rock Te frock too so if you want to get all dolled up again then drag the dress out and let's see what we can create!!
A shot of the Bridal party having fun together - they are probably your bestest friends and you will want to remember them looking their silliest and finest!
We were asked to break into an abandoned Railway Depot in Munich, Germany. When in we took the Bridal party in along with their vintage car for a carzy 1 hour session before sneaking off to the reception! It was so much fun and the shots are amazing!!!
Wellies, brollies, heel stoppers and an open mind! Actually some of our favourite weddings have been pouring and the shot shave been great.
Rod was trained by his Dad in the 80's (he was a famous society photographer shooting the Lords and Ladies of the Land for Hello magazine and similar). Rod went pro in the 90's. Julie was a bridal Dress consultant when they met in 2002 (pretty useful experience when it comes to getting a nervous Bride into a big dress). After getting married in 2005 she retrained as a photographer and they started Zest together.
