What is your most memorable wedding?
All of our weddings are memorable and it’s lovely that most of my couples have stayed in touch, it’s lovely to see their families growing and them celebrating wedding anniversaries! It would be really hard to narrow down just one memorable wedding when they have all been special.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, candid, flattering, enthusiastic, artistic
What about your business are you most proud of?
The dedication to every single wedding, regardless of the package or the venue or the budget. I strive to ensure that every couple is delighted
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Engagement shoots, think of it like a cake tasting or a make-up trial. It’s the opportunity to spend time with your photographer to work out what works and what doesn’t. On the day, the couples who had an engagement shoot are less nervous and so much more comfortable in front of the camera.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I photographed a wedding in the couples garden, they had landscaped it with their wedding in mind. It was incredibly personal and suited them perfectly.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We have an initial chat either in person or on zoom/phone. We then meet for the engagement shoot and to discuss their plans, this is really relaxed and fun. Depending on the time scale we will have another catch up before the big day (usually by phone)
The couple decide on timescetc but usually just after the arrival of the hairdresser works best.
After the wedding their pictures are uploaded and a selection of previews are chossen and edited within 24 hours, these are sent straight to the couple, they can even print them if they wish!
The gallery is usually delivered about 10 weeks after the wedding.. Once the couple chooses their images the album is delivered in about 4 weeks
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Just the two of you but away from the other guests, something really natural and relaxed
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I have taken quite a few pictures of brides, bridesmaids and various guests in bath tubs! The first time it happened I was surprised but if photographing weddings has taught me anything, it’s to expect the unexpected.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Some fabulous umbrellas! I always bring some but if you can get enough for the wedding party then even better and they make a really useful gift.
Describe how you got into photography.
I’m the third generation in my family, my grandfather was a photographer and so is my dad, I grew up with photography so it just feels so normal to me.
