What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm incredibly proud of my photography business and the journey it's been over the last 20+ years. What truly warms my heart is that over 50% of my clients come through referrals. Knowing that people have seen my work and loved it enough to recommend me to others means the world. It's a testament to the trust and connections I've built with my clients. It is an absolute privilege to witness so many beautiful once in a lifetime moments......I'm honoured to be a trusted supplier at four renowned Essex wedding venues, a testament to my reputation for quality and professionalism.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
One of the most common regrets I hear from couples after their wedding is that they tried too hard to please everyone else. Your wedding day is your special day. Don't feel pressured to conform to expectations or traditions that don't feel authentic to you. Focus on creating a celebration that reflects your love story and makes you both happy. Remember, it's about you and your partner, not your guests.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One of my favorite personal touches I've seen at a wedding was the use of personalized placeholders for the wedding breakfast. Each guest had a photo of themselves placed at their seat, chosen by the couple. It was a clever way to add a touch of nostalgia and make each guest feel special and included. It also showed the couple's attention to detail and their desire to create a memorable experience for everyone.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I’m dedicated to making the wedding photography experience as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. I offer a variety of customisable packages to suit different needs and budgets. However, I’m also happy to create a bespoke package tailored to your specific vision.
I typically start with an initial consultation, either in person or via Zoom, to get to know you and understand your unique requirements. This is a great opportunity to discuss your preferences, ask questions, and see if our styles align.
I’m always available to answer questions, offer advice, and provide guidance throughout the planning process. My priority is to ensure that you feel confident and excited about your wedding day photography.
My booking process is straightforward. Once you're happy with the package, a deposit is required. I'll need some basic information to set you up on my client system, which will then generate our contract. Once you've signed the contract electronically, you'll find details on how to pay the deposit. The remaining balance is due one month before your wedding. It's all very simple and easy.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
As a photographer specialising in nighttime portraits, I believe that every couple should capture a stunning night shot. These photos not only look amazing but also capture the ethereal beauty and timeless magic of a wedding evening. It’s a keepsake that will forever remind you of the love, joy, and unforgettable moments shared on your special day.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I’m constantly asked to create original night shots as my couples adore my signature style. These are the photos they choose to print and hang as they are true pieces of art!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Embrace the rain, you can't change it after all! Rainy wedding days can be incredibly romantic and atmospheric. Don't let a little drizzle dampen your spirits. Consider taking advantage of the unique opportunities that rainy weather can offer. You can create stunning indoor portraits, capture the cozy ambiance of your venue, or even venture out for a romantic stroll in the rain. Remember, some of the most beautiful wedding photos are taken in unexpected conditions. So, put on your rain boots, grab your umbrellas, and let the rain add a touch of magic to your special day.
Describe how you got into photography.
I developed a passion for photography during my Art & Design studies in college. Over time, I obtained multiple photography qualifications. However, I've learned that in this field, my portfolio speaks volumes over any certification. Most of my work comes from customer referrals, positive word-of-mouth, and showcasing my photographs.
Traveling the world extensively has shown me its natural beauty and diverse cultures. It reminds me of how lucky I am and the need for hard work to maintain it.
I've honed my photography and post-production skills to an excellent standard, through dedication and practice. Continuously learning new techniques through courses and training keeps me striving to make them even stronger.
I LOVE MY 'JOB'!!
