Planning your wedding is all about celebrating your unique love story—and capturing those moments in a way that feels truly yours. Tony Mattingley is a professional wedding photographer based in the picturesque village of Silsoe, Bedfordshire, who has been helping couples tell their stories through timeless, heartfelt images since 2006.
Tony’s photography journey started in the fast-paced world of sports, where he learned to anticipate and capture those split-second moments that matter most. This experience shapes how he photographs weddings—focusing on the little details, the natural light, and the genuine emotions that make your day unforgettable. Beyond taking beautiful photos, Tony is committed to guiding you with expert advice and support throughout your wedding planning.
His style is all about authenticity. Tony seeks out the best natural light or creates soft, natural-looking lighting to highlight the true spirit of your celebration. The result? A stunning collection of images that reflect your relationship’s unique essence—photos you’ll be proud to share and treasure for years to come.
While Tony is based in Bedfordshire, he regularly photographs weddings across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, and London. He’s also happy to travel anywhere in the UK or abroad for destination weddings.
There are so many to be honest however, I would probably have to say Harriet and James back in 2011.
Unobtrusive, flowing, observational, timeless,
Simply the outstanding service I offer my clients. There are many excellent and talented photographers however, by always going the extra mile for my clients, I believe the service sets me apart.
Book a photographer you feel comfortable with and get on well with. Obviously you also have to like their work, but remember you are spending your entire wedding day with this person.
I believe every couple's wedding is unique and I photograph each wedding as uniquely as I can. I don't tend to have a fixed set of images in mind however, I really enjoy doing one big group shot of everyone. Capturing at least one image with every single person in attendance together on the day; possibly a rare occurrence if not a once in a lifetime occurrence.
I am not sure if this is original or more bizarre? The bride was from Greece, marrying an Englishman. During some portrait shots of her, after the ceremony she said she would like the traditional panty shot as she had blue panties on. I thought something had been lost in translation and she meant the garter shot. However she really did mean a photograph of her blue panties. I still have no idea on this one, best to just move on I think:-/

My mum was a keen amateur photographer, right from when I was just a baby so I grew up with photography and started myself in my teens...many years ago now.
