FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

My most memorable wedding was on a Greek Island. The ceremony was in an old church officiated by 3 lovely, bearded priests and involved beautiful symbolic moments throughout - despite not understanding one word being spoken. This was followed by a fabulous reception in a small village square.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Relaxed Informal Unobtrusive Natural Spontaneous

What about your business are you most proud of?

I have been a successful wedding photographer for over 20 years, with half of that time being spent as a film photographer. With the transition to digital capture I have used the creative discipline of working with film to maintain excellent photography.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Plan the day you want - don't worry about who you do or don't want/have to invite. I have covered weddings of just 2 people to 200.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

It is always lovely to see photographs of important family members no longer around or not able to attend. These are usually as framed prints on the guest book table or next to the cake and are often of the subject (s) on their wedding day.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

It is very important for every couple to have as much input to the photography as they would like to make - photo suggestions and image ideas are always welcomed. I always try and arrange a pre-shoot to get an understanding of how they feel in front of the camera.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

One of the most important images I always capture is of the couple, away from the guests for a short while, usually walking hand in hand and looking at each other - lost in the moment and not conscious of the camera.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

I had great fun at a wedding when the bride wanted her group shots styled like the opening to Friends! We had a sofa and lamp stand next to a fountain and all the group combinations were then encouraged to pose in a fun way around the couple.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Be brave! Scoop up the dress, get and umbrella and embrace it! The light is usually wonderful when it's raining, there is nothing you can do about it and I'm game for what ever you are!

Describe how you got into photography.

I started over 20 years ago by taking photos of my children and setting up an exhibition, I was soon getting wedding bookings and have now attended over 1,000 weddings!
