What about your business are you most proud of?
As a wedding photographer, what I'm most proud of is capturing the genuine emotions and unique moments of each couple's special day. Creating timeless, beautiful memories that my clients will cherish forever is incredibly fulfilling. I'm also proud of the trust and relationships I build with my clients, making sure they feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera, resulting in natural and authentic photographs. Additionally, I'm proud of the reputation I've built. It means the world to me when past couples' loved ones book with me based on positive experiences and recommendations.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Wow...there are quite a few! I would have to say my top wedding planning tip for couples is to prioritise what truly matters to you. Focus on the elements that reflect your personalities. Remember, it's your special day, so make choices that will create meaningful and lasting memories for both of you.
Also confetti.......lots of it!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Memory tables and keepsakes always hold a special place for me. Seeing tributes to loved ones who are watching over the couple is incredibly moving and emotional.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
My typical process with a couple starts with an initial consultation. This is a chance for us to get to know each other and discuss your vision for the day. We'll also sign the electronic photography agreement and arrange a deposit to secure your date.e I only book one wedding per day. If you need recommendations for other suppliers, I'm happy to share contacts I work with regularly.
Next, if you choose to have an engagement shoot, we'll schedule that. It's a great way for you to get comfortable in front of the camera and for us to build a rapport, making the wedding day photography feel more natural and relaxed. If you decide to skip it, that's perfectly fine too.
As the wedding day approaches, I'll stay in touch to finalize the timeline and any last-minute details. About a month before the wedding, we'll have a phone or video call after you've had your final meetings with the venue(s). This helps me collect your schedule and any specific photo requests.
On the big day, I'll arrive early to capture the preparations and stay throughout all the key moments—from the ceremony to the reception—to ensure every special memory is documented.
After the wedding, I'll edit the photos in my signature style, carefully selecting the best ones that tell the story of your day. Finally, I'll deliver a beautifully curated gallery of images that you can cherish forever. My goal throughout the entire process is to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience, resulting in stunning, authentic photographs.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
There's more than one! Champagne spray, confetti shot, night backlit photograph...to name a few.
Describe how you got into photography.
I have always loved photography. At 16 I was fortunate enough to be accepted on a Digital and Film Photography A Level course. From there my passion for photography grew. My parents bought me my first film camera to use alongside my digital cameras. I loved developing film and experimenting with digital editing. Looking towards the future I decided I wanted to teach and so took a BA Hons degree in Primary Education QTS at Edge Hill University. I continued developing my photography as an enthusiast. I couldn't leave the arts behind completely and chose to specialise in Creative and Expressive Arts allowing me to incorporate my photography into my degree.
Fast forward twelve years and after teaching in an Outstanding primary school, coordinating Art and Design, and being a part of the Senior Leadership Team I decided my time in teaching was coming to an end. I knew I wanted to pursue my dream. I started photographing families, couples, children, and individuals to raise money for the NHS during the first Covid-19 lockdown. I created my social media pages, website, branding, and haven't looked back!
I am extremely grateful for my wonderfully supportive client base. They have enabled my business to grow beyond what I had hoped for in such a short space of time. Thank you! I have built a solid reputation, with many of my clients coming to me through word of mouth.Thank you also to local media (Your North West Wedding Magazines CWM and the Lancashire Post) for publishing my work. I am fortunate enough to have had my work chosen to be on the cover of two issues of Your North West Wedding Magazine and on the front of the Lancashire Post.
My style is candid, capturing moments as naturally as possible. Of course, sometimes group photos are needed too! I have a relaxed approach to shooting. I really don’t enjoy being in front of the camera myself! And so empathise completely with clients that are a little shy or feel slightly awkward having their photo taken. I hope to put clients at ease making the experience as enjoyable as possible. I have recently been nominated in the 'Female Photographer' through County Brides. Thank you to my wonderful brides and grooms who have voted for me!
