The Snapper Full Description
I’m an affordable London wedding photographer. I try to put ethics, transparency and affordability at the heart of what I do, leeping my rates low and diverting part of the fee to charity. I've photographed well over 400 weddings, and have 200 five-star verified Google Reviews, which is more than literally any other London weddin photographer, or probably UK wedding photographer! As well as wedding photography, I also do studio portrait photography and undertake a range of photojournalistic, documentary, live music, event and corporate assignments. I use a contemporary yet vintage/retro style, and shoot with an observational/reportage/documentary approach. I work mainly in London and the South East but also work on commissions across the UK.

A true artist with a keen eye for detail

How can I even begin with Harmit? If there is anything you can take from this review, it is that he has been absolutely phenomenal to work with, and that he is a true artist with a keen eye for detail. My wife and I were married in August 2025, and as a queer couple we were rather particular about our vendors and who we asked to work with us on our special day. Harmit was one of the first we met in person as we asked him to do a few engagement shoots of us many months before our wedding date. The day was rather cloudy, but my (now) wife and I had such a blast with him wandering through the canals at Camden and the greenery of Hampstead Heath. With the overcast skies it was pretty easy to imagine that everything could be washed out and dull, but I think Harmit caught us at our most alive and vibrant every time. He indulged some of our sillier requests, and all in all it was quite a great time. For the day of the wedding itself, months later, Harmit was truly in perfect form and we were so impressed by his professionalism, his flexibility, and his ability to capture the day. Where the engagement shoot had been more overcast our wedding day had so much more colour in it, and we were absolutely blown away when the pictures came back. We had been impressed by the previous shoot, but Harmit truly knocked it out of the park with our August wedding photos. He was present everywhere he could possibly be, unobtrusively taking shot after shot, and he followed our proposed schedule down to the minute in each of the places we needed to be. He also surprised us with the variety of styles of shots he could get. We had group pictures, getting ready photos, photos during the ceremony, action shots as we came back up the aisle, shots during the party, and more. We had asked if he would be willing to do some flat lay shoots of things like our rings, dresses, etc., and he had mentioned he was rather more of an observational photographer and so tended not to, but on the day he arranged some incredible flat lay shoots as well without even any prompting. I cannot stress enough just how pleased we are, he really did go above and beyond for us and we are so incredibly thankful. Harmit has helped us record these memories we'll cherish for the rest of our lives. He was a delight to work with, professional in every sense, and supremely capable. If you want excellent photos for a wedding (and I'm sure anything else!) he should definitely be your pick.

100% recommend

Harmit is an incredible photographer, being very professional, on time, friendly, and with a great vision. We really liked the framing he did for our photos and the ideas he had for our venue. We usually don't like getting our photo taken but Harmit made it easy and it was low pressure for all of our guests too, since he does not take staged photos (aside from the ones you ask for). We hired Harmit for four hours and his prices are transparent on his website. The booking process was simple but he also gave us all the information we needed in advance, and we were also able to specify the group photos we wanted and other locations etc for photographs. He was transparent about what to do if you want him to stay longer at the end and pricing for that, and before he left he let us know so we could get some last photos. When he sent our photos to us they were with us more quickly than we had anticipated, and they were formatted in a really easy way to share with our guests at a link. Then we got the raw files shortly after and everything is downloadable for us. I can't recommend Harmit enough if you're London based, given the great quality, experience, and price to hire him. Thank you!

Ellie & Alex - 12 July 2025

Harmit photographed our wedding at Dulwich Picture Gallery on 12 July 2025 and was fab from start to finish. He was easy to communicate with in the lead-up, good-humoured and fun to have around on the day, and produced a fab set of pictures for us. We would thoroughly recommend him and is a steal in comparison to other wedding photographers. Thanks so much Harmit. Ellie & Alex

Wonderful photographer. Wonderful person.

We couldn’t be happier with the service provided by Harmit for our wedding. He captured so many beautiful, natural moments from the day and had really interesting and fun ideas for shots that felt very unique and special to us. As well as being a talented photographer Harmit is also really easy to work with, with a calm and caring approach that felt very grounding on such a busy day. We’d absolutely recommend Harmit, he provides an excellent service at a very fair price.

Fantastic!

Harmit was great from start to finish. Friendly, attentive and talented! Harmit was very skilled at wrangling guests, taking photos and putting us at ease. We received the photos two weeks after the wedding and we are very happy with them! We would definitely recommend him for your wedding.

Looking for candid shots? Look no further

Harmit recently photographed our wedding and he was a pleasure to work with. As a couple who love candid shots, we found Harmit to be an ideal photographer as he blended into the crowd and we got great shots and memories to reflect on. My husband and I, as awkward human beings who don't enjoy having our photos taken, were made to feel at ease during our couple portraits.

Incredible wedding photographer!

Harmit was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish with us, from talking us through his plan during a lovely, in-depth phone call, to taking the lead on our wedding day. He captured the feel we were looking for down to a tee and looking back through his magnificent photos transported us straight back to our big day! He was also so brilliant with our guests, giving out instructions with such ease and charm. We cannot recommend Harmit highly enough. He provides such a great service and a is top bloke who was an amazing addition to the day. There aren't enough stars to give!

Harmit captured our day perfectly!

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience with Harmit on our wedding day. Before, during and after, Harmit made us and our guests feel comfortable, and we could be confident that he had everything under control to perfectly capture our special moments. I particularly loved Harmit's organisation and clear instructions, his calming nature, and his passion to make sure he got the best photos. Thank you Harmit!

Perfect!

We had the best experience with Harmit photographing our wedding! From our first phone-call we were confident that he understood our vibe and he was a great fit for our day - friendly, responsive, unobtrusive. We really didn't want someone who was going to stage-direct and pull us away from our guests and he completely got that. We have had loads of comments from our guests as to how lovely he was, and we are thrilled with our photos which were delivered exactly on time. If you want a photographer who is going to perfectly capture your day organically, Harmit is the one!

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

The one where Sir John Hurt was sitting in the front row, and I got to photograph the wonderful, iconic (and very lovely) actor!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Soulful, unsentimental, Wes-Anderson-esque, equality-focused.

What about your business are you most proud of?

That I keep my prices low, and also divert part of the fee to charity. I don't want my business to be part of the 'wedding industrial complex' so want to be ethical in both my pricing and also by contributing to good causes through it.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Tell your DJ to play 'Everywhere' by Fleetwood Mac as the post-first dance floor filler! It works a treat every single time.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

The toilets at the reception venue being filled by photographs of the couple.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I provide loads of information on my website, but I also have a thorough pre wedding discussion with them to find out what they do and don't want from their weddings. By doing this, it means that on the day itself, I pretty much leave the couple alone, and I snap away, knowing exactly what they want.

What is the No.1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The parting shot. I love to end the story of a couple's wedding day, with a final photo of them looking tired, maybe a little drunk, but very happy.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

I took photos at a naturist wedding once, so you can imagine that all the photos were kind of... different.

And in case you were wondering, the bride did actually wear a veil, and the groom did wear a bow tie. So, they did actually dress up for the wedding.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Umbrellas, obvs.

Describe how you got into photography.

As the youngest of 3 kids I was never allowed to take family pictures, I was the cute one who had to BE in every picture. So, that made the camera an object of desire until I got my first camera at 17. Never looked back after that, and eventually went on to do an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary at the London College of Communication. I still do some photojournalism work, but I honestly love photographing weddings more than anything else.
