What is your most memorable wedding?
It might sound cheesy but each wedding is genuinely unique. Every couple has their own style, and each venue is different, so we feel lucky to be part of each one.
But here are some things we've enjoyed seeing at weddings: guests in inflatable costumes, goth themed wedding cakes, dogs as ringbearers, guests dancing during the wedding breakfast meal, conga lines, limbo dancing, roly-polying down hills, silent discos....
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, relaxed, warm, emotional, beautiful
What about your business are you most proud of?
Whenever we get an email saying that a couple love their photos we feel incredibly happy. It's such a privelege to be part of a wedding day and to do something that makes people happy.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do it your way!
Every couple is unique and it's your chance to enjoy your day, your way. Whether traditional or modern, a huge party or an intimate gathering, immaculately planned or footloose and fancy-free, it's your special day!
Also (number two!) work out when you need to do each planning task.
Give each job a date, and spread them out over the coming weeks. Until that date, ignore it!
It can seem like an overwhelming list at first, but if you give everything a date you can breeze through small number of jobs each week. You can focus on enjoying this exciting special time!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We were at a wedding recently where each guest had their own stone hand-painted with their name (including one for Christina and myself!)
Describe your typical process with a couple.
When you enquire we can answer any questions that you have and we can jump on a quick call where you can let us know the plans for your day, plus we can have a bit of a general natter to get to know each other.
The booking process is really simple. Just a quick questionnaire, an online contract and a deposit.
Once you've booked, we keep in touch with regular emails to say hello.
Plus if you want to arrange a visit to the venue then we can have a walk round and chat about how the day is going to unfold.
We normally have a planning call about 4 weeks before the big day, where we ask about the timeline, who the important people are, any important details to you and the addresses where things are happening.
Then we're ready to go for the big day!
We send a text the day before to check in and let you know how excited we are.
On the day we'll be totally ready with what's happening when. Most of the time we are just taking candid and natural photos. But if you want us to organise a full photo of the whole wedding, or a confetti line or group photos that that's no problem at all.
We'll catch all the big moments and the little ones.
We aim to send you 20-30 preview pictures the day after the wedding!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Most of the day we just take canidd and natural photos of what is happening naturally.
But if you can take a moment for a few portrait photos of the two of you then that can be a really nice experience.
It's often a chance to slow down, be with each other and reflect on the day as it's happening.
The middle of the day can go quite fast so having that time together can be a great experience.
We can get a few lovely portraits in different locations at your venue, then the two of you can have a bit of time alone.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
We did a silent disco recently because the venue didn't allow amplified music.
So that was a great photo of everyone wearing the headphones with lights glowing in the darkness!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
We can always do group photos indoors, so there's no need to worry about that.
If you're arranging any entertainment or performers then they can usually be moved inside as well.
(We have seen lawn games moved into the venue's rooms!)
Describe how you got into photography.
An old friend asked me to shoot their wedding and I fell in love with the whole process.
I loved the excitement of the day, as well as the planning beforehand, and perfecting the images afterwards.
It was an amazing feeling to be able to deliver the photos to friends, and to hear how much they loved having a record of the day.
