What is your most memorable wedding?

My most memorable wedding was between two self-confessed “kooks” whose quirky personalities made the day unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I could tell this wouldn’t be an ordinary wedding as the couple made no excuses for their unconventionality which they both embraced This wedding was memorable because it truly reflected the couple’s personalities and their love for celebrating life. It was a perfect reminder that when people are true to themselves, it creates a unique, joyful atmosphere that shines through in every photo. I left with a camera full of vibrant, candid shots that captured the essence of their wonderfully quirky love story.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Working with a wedding couple as their photographer typically starts with an initial consultation. During this meeting—either in person or virtually—you get to know the couple, their story, and their vision for the wedding day. You’ll discuss the schedule, key moments they want captured, and any particular styles or themes they love. This is where you can share some of your past work to show how your style aligns with their vision. Once booked, you might do an engagement shoot, giving you a chance to work together and get them comfortable in front of the camera. It’s also a great time to build rapport and learn their personalities, which can help you capture them authentically on their wedding day. As the big day approaches, you usually meet or check in with the couple to finalize timelines and details. You might create a shot list, covering everything from family portraits to spontaneous moments and planned details like the rings and decor. On the wedding day itself, your role is to document each part of the day seamlessly. You start with “getting ready” shots, moving on to the ceremony, then capturing the reception and all those beautiful candid moments in between. Throughout, you’re adapting to the schedule and any last-minute changes while ensuring you capture the essence of their day. Afterward, post-production begins. You carefully edit the photos, ensuring consistency in style and quality. Finally, you deliver a curated gallery or album that tells the story of their wedding day, giving them an heirloom collection they’ll treasure for a lifetime.
