Peter Haken is an Oxford-based wedding photographer and filmmaker covering Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds, Berkshire, Bristol, Buckinghamshire and London.
His work is defined by a calm, refined and documentary-led approach, creating imagery that feels elegant, atmospheric and deeply personal.
With a background shaped by 35mm film and a growing use of Leica, his style is rooted in observation, light and emotion rather than heavy direction. The focus is always on preserving the true character of the day, the people, the setting and the quieter moments that give a wedding its soul.
Alongside natural, story-led photography, cinematic wedding films and hybrid coverage are available for couples who want both stills and motion handled with one consistent artistic eye.

We offer both photography and videography
Meet your photographer face to face before your wedding day, as you will be spending the whole day with them. When the memories fade, it's the photos and videos you have to look back on. So you need to get on, trust them and have fun.
The pure joy of long-lost family guests, thought to be oceans away—suddenly appearing and turning the day into an unforgettable surprise!
Most couples discover me on Bridebook and then visit my website to explore my work and pricing. If you’re ready to book, fantastic! If you’d like to chat first, we can arrange a relaxed video call one evening to review questions. When you decide I’m the one to capture your day, securing your date is simple—just a quick booking form, a 25% deposit, and a contract to make it official. Then, you’ve got me as your wedding photographer, and we can start planning all the magic!
The first look from the partner, the father, or the mother of the bride.

A little rain? No problem! Grab a gorgeous brolly, slip into some stylish wellies, and maybe drape a cosy shawl over your shoulders—because with the right touch of adventure (and the proper footwear), nothing can stop you from embracing every magical moment!
I've always had a camera in my hand. I started shooting on a 35mm film camera, capturing street photography with a candid, documentary vibe. That’s probably why I love weddings so much—telling stories through a lens feels natural. Oh, and whatever you do, don’t play Mr. Brightside too early… unless you want to see my dance moves way ahead of schedule. Seriously, don’t.
