FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

A stunning Sherborne Abbey wedding, then afterwards going with the wedding party on an old Red London bus, driving to the reception in a very rural setting, down very narrow country lanes to wonderful 200 year old Tithe Barn, was all magical.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Creative, Unobtrusive, Distinctive, Natural, Timeless

What about your business are you most proud of?

Customer satisfaction. Happy couples and lovely testimonials.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Factor in time between the different parts of the day, everything will take longer than you think. Allow enough time after the ceremony for the photographs and think about the extra little planning things that often get overlooked, like the journey time, traffic and logistics from house to venue, venue to reception etc. So allow a little buffer time before the sit down dinner or receiving line, so you have enough time to get in all the lovely photographs on your wish list and more. The worst that can happen is you get some extra time to chill have a drink and enjoy some time with your wedding guests. A good guide after the ceremony is to allow a minimum of 5-10 minutes depending on group size, for each family/bridal party/friends/all, group shots and at least 30 for the Bride and Groom to have separately to capture those really special, just the two of you, magical once in a lifetime photographs.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Special Jewellery worn by the grooms family, so they could bring missing members of the family that had passed, to the wedding. A coral tie pin worn by the Groom that was his Granddads, the Grooms Mum and Dad, who wore rings from Aunts and Uncles and the Grooms Brother who wore a signet ring from his other Grandad. It was a lovely heart warming touch.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

After I received an enquiry, I try to arrange to meet a couple where possible. This is just an informal chat about the wedding, the packages I offer and what the couple is looking for for their wedding photography. Once the couple decides to book my services, I take a deposit to secure the date exclusively for them in the bookings diary and then send out a wedding pack. In the wedding pack, there is a helpful hints and tips guide on planning the wedding and what to think about with the photography. Also included is the contract agreement with the conformation of the package purchased and details of services and the terms and conditions, with a photograph set list guide where you give me the names of all your VIP's (the wedding party) and tick what photographs you like from a standard list and note anything special arranged you don't want missed that may be happening I need to know about. After that I will contact you again nearer the wedding to check on how the planning is going and find out if anything has changed. Lastly before your day I will check in with you and if your having one, attend the wedding rehearsal, so that I can introduce myself to the wedding officiant and check the rules on the photography at the church or venue, so that I am all set on the day and know exactly where I can and cannot be, to get the very best photographs on the day.

What is the No.1 photo that you think every couple should take?

A special few photographs just of the couple, after all the family and wedding party have been taken, away from family, guests and onlookers, to give the couple a little 'time out' and a moment or two together to create some romantic and magical photographs, where I step back and let the magic happen, before they dive back into all the fun of the wedding reception.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

I was asked to get a photograph of a bride and groom buying Ice Creams from an Ice-cream van up on a well known viewpoint and beauty spot. They que'd with the public to get the cones and it made some fantastic quirky wedding photographs sat overlooking a spectacular view eating ice creams with the wind blowing the brides veil. Still some of my top favourite 'special' wedding moments photographed to date.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Bright umbrellas and funky wellingtons, turn a rainy day into fun and laughter and make some fantastic photographs and memories

Describe how you got into photography.

I have always been artistic, my father was an artist. I loved to paint and through my creative eyes, when I first picked up a camera I was smitten with its versatility and how creative I could get with it. I studied and practiced with many cameras and after having some of my work exhibited, I was asked if I would like to photograph a wedding and that was the beginning of my journey into the wonderful world of wedding photography.
