If you're looking for a wedding photographer who truly captures the genuine emotions and fleeting moments of your big day, Stuart Murphy Photography is here for you. Based in Braintree, Essex, Stuart specialises in a natural, documentary style that focuses on authentic smiles, joyful tears, and the happy faces that make your wedding uniquely yours. Expect a beautiful collection of images that tell the real story of your day, preserving memories exactly as they happened.
Your wedding day is a personal celebration—not a photoshoot. Stuart’s friendly, calm approach helps you and your guests feel completely at ease. With a background as a primary school teacher, he has a special talent for gently organising group shots with fun and ease. Rather than directing your day, Stuart captures it as it unfolds, so you can fully enjoy every precious moment.
Every wedding is different, and Stuart Murphy Photography offers a flexible "Build Your Own Package" system. This lets you choose exactly the services you need, making sure your photography fits your plans and budget perfectly.
With a genuine passion for capturing natural portraits and the many special moments your wedding day holds, Stuart feels honoured to be part of such a meaningful occasion. His goal is to provide you with a timeless visual story of your celebration that you’ll cherish forever.
Relaxed. Real. Unobtrusive. Natural. Timeless.
There is always such a long list of things to plan! Try to focus first on the main aspects of the day that are most important to you both. With these in place, the smaller details and minutiae will (hopefully) feel more manageable.
I always like to meet the couple before the wedding. Preferably this takes place at their home or a place they feel completely comfortable. We talk through all aspects of the day and how I work. On the day itself, I (and my second shooter Steph) aim to be as friendly and unobtrusive as possible.
Most couples don't like idea of the first dance... but it makes for great photos!
Nothing can be planned perfectly so when it comes to the day itself, try to let go and enjoy your day to the fullest. Come rain or shine, at the end of the day you will be married!
I have loved photography for as long as I can remember and over the years I have realised that taking pictures of people is what I most enjoy. I love shooting weddings as the emotions of the day are palpable… they leap through the lens onto the photo!
