Every wedding I do is memorable in it's own way, I know that sounds really corny but it's true! Every single wedding I do has a unique identity that is all about the couple who I am working with. The best weddings are when the day is planned to reflect the couple completely, this way I've seen handmade decor, totally different timelines for the day and things that suit a couples tastes. A particular favourite of mine was the 'Bramwell Biscuit Bar' but that's just 'cause I love a good bake!
Natural, Honest, Adventurous, Creative and Real
How successful I have been so far, I'm immensely lucky and unbelievable grateful to do this job and I will never forget that.
Do what you want! It's as simple as that. Your day; your way!
It all starts with a meeting over a cuppa and a good chat. I always keep things very informal and casual and these meetings are FAR from a sales pitch! I think it's vitally important to get to know who I am working with and for them to know who I am as a person so they feel comfortable around me. That's why I always meet my couples at least twice before their big days.
I don't go into any wedding with a set group of photographs to take, I capture things as they happen and the kickass photograph people are going to want come from that foundation of friendship and trust.
I've never been asked for a specific photograph, all of my couples trust my eye and my instincts.
Embrace it, it's a part of your day so don't try to ignore it. I've always got wellies and umbrellas with me so there's no stopping us!
My grandpa had an old Instamatic 33 when I was a little that I was fascinated with. He left this to me in his will when he passed away when I was 9 and since then I've always had a camera in my hand and a viewfinder in front of my eye. I remember sitting on my mom and dad's bed on rainy Saturday mornings looking through old family photographs and love the idea that in 30+ years time people will be showing their children or grandchildren the photographs I took.
