I can't say I have a most memorable wedding, but I have lots of memorable moments .... a child's speech reducing everyone to tears, puppies, an overly exuberant bouquet toss, groomsmen busting out some moves, Find-the-beer, Ferris go wheel, 1000 paper flowers ... the list goes on!
Relaxed, Fun, Creative, Unobtrusive, Detailed.
That its all mine!! I do everything, I don't send out other photographers, or get someone else to edit my images, everything that is produced I've done with the support of some pretty awesome couples.
...to book me... I'm pretty great ... but seriously, lists are your friend! It helps clear your head to be able to focus on other things happening in your life, and with the planning process. Also being able to cross things off lists, is a very satisfying feeling!
Once a groom offered to 'make' his bride flowers and kept the flowers as a surprise until the day. The bride had no idea what he was up to and was relatively concerned, she thought she was going to get some very plastic flowers sourced from the darker places of the internet ... he hand made literally 100's of paper flowers, that he put into bouquets and venue decor.
I like to keep things simple. We start with the initial enquiry where I answer any questions and check availability. We arrange a call to put names to faces, and go through anything you have already planned. I take a deposit to secure the date, with final payment due ahead of the wedding day. Im in contact a few more times ahead of the wedding, so I can get a list of group photos they would like, check the timings for the day, and check to see if there is any specific photos, or if you're happy with me just doing my thing (I document the day with all the key moments as they happen, spend time getting all the details and creating portraits, that capture your and your friends style and personality). 6-12 weeks after the wedding you receive your photos with regular updates and sneak peaks ... and then you tell all your fiends about how awesome your photographer was .... simples!
Honest answer if I can only choose one is a group photo ... its not considered an 'exciting' photo but it's often the one that holds SO much value in years to come. I also say having a 'posed' image with just the two of you is also a must, if standing in front of a camera isn't a regular thing for you, the thought of it can be a little uncomfortable, but allocating 1/2 hour on the day to have a relaxed walk around your venue with your new Mr/Mrs is totally worth it!
I was asked to photograph a couple next to a taxidermy giraffe, another couple wanted a 'mid air photo' and one of my favourites was a photo on a Ferris wheel.
A brolly and the sense of adventure! I always try to caution brides who have no wet weather plan at an outdoor venue, we are in the UK after all! I generally keep a couple of brollies with me, and if the rain doesn't bother you, it doesn't bother me, and with a bit of extra lighting the rain can look incredible!
I always loved photography, I did a degree in photography and started working as an assistant wedding photographer during those years, I achieved a First BA Hons in photography and then launched my own business.
