What is your most memorable wedding?
It has to be the wedding that wasn't a wedding. The Groom had a heart attack the morning of the wedding - he's absolutely fine and made a full recovery! I persuaded the Bride to let me come along anyway as everything was still going ahead apart from the ceremony (and the Groom being there!) and she was so grateful I did. You can read all about it in my blog.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, relaxed, candid, fun, arty
What about your business are you most proud of?
That I went to full time photographer whilst having a baby. Running your own business is so hard without a child thrown in the mix! But I'm doing all of this for my son and to follow my passion. I feel so lucky to be able to do this.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Be sure to take some time out together. The day passes so quickly so I think it's really important for couples to just sit back, soak it all in and enjoy the feeling.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A table plan that was made of every individual persons polaroid!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once a couple confirmed they would like to book me for their day I send over a booking form and contract for them to fill out and return, a booking fee is also required at this point. All of these three secure the date! A couple of months before the wedding I meet up with the couple over Zoom, to run through the day and discuss any particular photo's they would like. Six weeks before the wedding, the remaining balance is to be paid. Then all that's left is for me to capture all their special moments on their big day! I go into more detail about this in my pricing guide. If you'd like a copy let me know! :)
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
GROUP / FAMILY PHOTOS. I know they're not the most popular and everyone prefers the more natural, candid images. However, I find these are timeless photos that get passed down to generations. They don't have to take ages on the day, I have a very efficient way of working through them. You don't realise the importance of them, until it's too late.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A Grooms odd socks!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Embrace it. You can never guarantee the weather in the UK so you shouldn't spend time stressing over something you have no control over. I do what I can to make sure you still receive great photo's, despite the rainy weather.
Describe how you got into photography.
My mother inspired me when I was younger and I even took a course on how to develop your own film in a dark room (super cool!). I never knew this could be a profession until my husband and I got married and I was searching for a photographer. This ignited my love for photography. I want to make couples feel how I felt when receiving my wedding photos, excited, emotional, happy... all the feels!
