To give each couple his full attention and creativity, Steve takes on only 20-25 weddings per year. While based on the Isle of Wight, he’s happy to travel anywhere in the UK or worldwide for your destination wedding.
I couldn't pick just one! Every wedding and couple is unique in there own way and I love that! My favourite weddings though are the ones that are just for the bride and groom and really reflect their personalities.
relaxed, natural, creative, photo ninja, fun,
That I am trusted to document one of the most important milestones in a couples life together, it is the biggest honour!
This would be simply, be yourselves! Its your day and should be a reflection of that, don't let tradition and what you "should do" dictate your day. Do what makes you happy and you'll have an incredible day.
There are too many to have a favourite but at a recent wedding a bride and groom hand made personalised shot glasses and filled with sweets to use as name places instead of a table plan, I loved that and have mine in my office! I also had a bride and groom that had a reading made up entirely of disney film quotes, it was incredibly creative and moving and a moment i'll never forget!
This really does change with each couple as I approach every wedding and couple as unique.
Typically though I like to meet with a couple first and make sure we are the right fit for each other, as a photographer you spend a large part of the day with the couple and they need to feel relaxed in your company.
I use this time to go through previous work and determine what they like and dislike. Hear about plans for their day, ideas they have and discuss the best way to shoot the day for them. I give them info on how i typically shoot a wedding and safeguards i have in place on the day and after.
If they decide to book I get them to fill out an information sheet, contact and most wanted shots form.
I take a minimum £100 deposit and the remainder payable any point up to 1 month before the wedding.
If any couples have images they would like to recreate I ask them to send them through to me as and when they like.
If they would like a pre wedding shoot we usually do this between 4&8 weeks before the big day.
If I've not been to the venue before I will visit before the day (sometimes with the couple) so I have an idea of the layout and best locations to shoot.
I shoot all day capturing every moment of the day.
After the day I edit all unique images and place on a usb inside a wooden keepsake box and also supply them with an online gallery to order prints, canvases or photobooks. Most weddings will take 8-12 weeks to complete and deliver.
Thats a difficult question!! The one that best shows their love of each other in the most natural way possible! That picture can't be posed or planned but I aim to find those moments at every wedding and capture them as they happen!
Bring an umbrella and embrace the rain! Its still the happiest day of your life rain or shine, and we can capture some incredible images you'll treasure for a lifetime.
