A wedding at Odda's Chapel on a rainy october day - the whole country was absolubtley flooded - but the photos drip with atmosphere and emotion.
Unstaged, Unconventional, Emotive, Scuzzy, Artistic
Making it my own thing - I don't think anyone else really makes photos the same way I do. And although I often feel like I'm out on a limb it's those individual things that keep my work so interesting.
Leave baggy time - time to just be yourselves and enjoy the moments. It all goes so fast.
I love to spend time getting to know people and their stories before the wedding. I don't think questionnares and forms are good for learning about people and their love and their families.... I like to get stuck in and find out the deeper stuff wherever possible. (Photojournalism should be mainly about listening and observing).
After that, on the day, I'll be as hands off as possible and let the day flow and be what it is.
And in the end we end up with amazing artistic photos that convey how it felt to actually be there and live the moment.
Sound like a plan?
I really don't think this exists. The best photos are always unplanned suprises.
That's really not how we roll (see above?)
Loving it. We can still get great shots (window light, doorways etc...) - but above all just enjoy the time with guests, have a great day and try not to slip over.
By accident.
