Use established professionals and look for:- Subtle use of flash (no harsh shadow lines), nice balanced composition. Sharp where they should be. Ok arty blur is fashionable but you shouldn't call a bad shot "Art" in my opinion. Look for nicely observed images and remember a beautiful location shouldn't sell a sloppy shot.

Once a couple have seen my portfolio and like the style of images I will then meet with them or talk on the phone. Very often they are keen to complete the booking straight away.
I am always available for discussion, advice and questions at any time before the day and I always call the couple before hand to check on everything.
All images from the day are important. I think the most significant image will be during the ceremony or couples shots when you can tangibly feel the love between them as the look into each others eyes, when they are oblivious to anyone other than each other. These are the moments that I really love to capture.
I have never been asked specifically to take any unusual image. I constantly try to take both striking and subtle images often in original ways but the shot must work and look right.
Lots of umbrellas - either colourful or all white and make a feature of the weather.
