What is your most memorable wedding?
Louise & Scott's SURPRISE wedding! (yes... you read it right. All of the guests thought that they were there to celebrate a 30th birthday party, then out comes the bride to marry her beau in their back garden! It really was so magical.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
clean, light, elegant, momentous & spirited
What about your business are you most proud of?
Most of all, I am so proud to be the person who has the honour and responsibility to capture THE most important day of people's lives. I am also really proud of the photographic style that I have developed. I am adaptable, and I have the ability to shoot in lots of different ways to suit each bride and groom that I work for. From a documentary style to get natural, fly on the wall shots to a more formal style to get those all important, classic family portraits and big group photographs.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Embrace every second.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
When the bride and groom stepped out of the church, and they were given two white doves to hold and set free to fly away. This was a total surprise to them, organised by the bride's mother. It was so lovely to see the doves fly far away into the sky, it was a significant and poignant moment marking a new chapter in their lives.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I love to get to know the couples that I work with prior to their wedding, as I feel that it is really important for us to create a bond so that they feel comfortable around me, resulting in much better photographs on the day!
This is why I offer all of my couples a complimentary pre wedding photoshoot & consultation. We get to practice some poses, have an informal chat and discuss all of the plans for the big day.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A classic, beautiful portrait of the bride and groom after the ceremony. I always offer to whisk my couples away for a few moments to get some gorgeous shots of them together. That's what it's all about!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Well, let's just say that it involves a photobomb including a bare bottom.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
A beautiful transparent brolly, so that we can get some romantic outdoor shots no matter what the weather!
Describe how you got into photography.
As far as I can remember, I have always loved being creative and I aspired to follow my dad, who was an amateur photographer when I was young. I got hold of my first camera when I was just a girl, and ever since my love and passion for photography continued to grow.
