What about your business are you most proud of?
My clients. I love them all, and without them I wouldn't have a business!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't panic! There are lots of free wedding planning templates on Google, I'd start here. You can see what you do/don't want before you decide on your date, location, and everything else from there, but decide in advance what's important to you both.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I just love when family jewellery is attached to the dress or a bouquet with a pendant and photo in it, that way the absent family member can still walk down the aisle. I think it's a beautiful sentiment and idea.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Usually they like to have a check on my work then drop me a line to see if I have their date available. It's nice to have a chat but I'm really easy going and not salesy at all, so if you like to do everything on email, or phone, or face to face I'm happy with whatever works for you. When you're happy we both complete a form and a booking fee (usually 30%) then the rest isn't due until the month before. Obviously we chat through the day closer to the date so we know the plan.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I don't think there is a #1 picture. Every story is different and I love to document it as it unfolds rather than forcing my ideas on to couples. THEY may have a number one photo they want to get, and I always oblige, but it should be their decision.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I don't get asked to take specific photos at weddings very often due to my style, I am trusted to capture the day honestly. The most unusual photo I have taken during the day was probably the wedding party enjoying the miniature railway in Buxton, that was fun, and I even got to have a go too! TOOT TOOT!!!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Brollies and wellies. You only get one chance for memories of this day. That said it's ALWAYS your choice whether you'd like to brave the weather ;)
"Let the rain pitter patter because it really doesn't matter if the skies are grey. As long as I've got you, it's a lovely day"
Describe how you got into photography.
I was asked by a friend to photograph her wedding. She was adamant that if I didn't do it she wasn't going to have a photographer! YIKES! No pressure of course haha!
