I’m Sam, a wedding photographer based in Aberdeen, and my whole approach is built around one simple idea: your wedding day should feel like your day — not a photoshoot. I’m there to capture the genuine moments, the atmosphere, the laughter, the nerves, the hugs, the daft jokes… all the things that make your day actually feel like you.
My style is relaxed, candid and people-focused. I blend in with your pals, keep things light, and let the day unfold naturally. Of course, we’ll grab a few guided moments when needed, but nothing stiff, nothing forced, and definitely nothing that takes you away from enjoying the day. You get to spend your time with your favourite people, and I make sure you’ve got the memories to look back on afterwards.
I’ve worked hundreds of weddings in my previous career in hospitality, so I get the flow of a wedding day and how much effort you’ve put into making it feel right. That background means I’m calm under pressure, great with people, and able to disappear into the background when needed (and take charge when required). Most couples tell me I feel like a friend with a camera — which is exactly the vibe I aim for.
I photograph everything from small, intimate elopements to full-on party weddings with packed dancefloors. Whether you’re getting married in a city centre hotel, a back garden, a barn, a castle or up a hill somewhere, I’m all in. My job is to document the atmosphere and the relationships — the stuff that actually matters in twenty years’ time — not to spend the whole day faffing about with poses.
Every wedding I photograph includes:
• A relaxed, candid approach that keeps the day feeling natural
• Coverage tailored to whatever you’ve got planned — whether that’s prep, speeches, sunset portraits, dancefloor chaos, or anything in between
• A full gallery of edited images in my signature style, ready to download, share and print
• A photographer who’s genuinely there to support you, keep things calm, and help your day run smoothly
• A friendly, down-to-earth experience from the first message to the final gallery
I love working with couples who want their photos to feel real — the joy, the emotion, the tiny in-between moments you didn’t even realise were happening. If you’re after a chilled photographer who captures the day honestly and lets you be yourselves, we’ll get on brilliantly.
If this sounds like what you’re after, I’d love to hear about your plans. Let’s make some magic.
Of course! You’ll receive high-resolution images with full printing rights, as well as a web-optimised version perfect for sharing with friends and family.
Always! Get in touch and we can either meet up for a coffee/beer if you're nearby (or a video call if you're not) to get to know each other before any decisions are made. There's no hard selling here either, after we meet I'll leave you to decide whether we're a good fit, just let me know either way!
Life happens, and I totally understand. If you need to cancel, the booking fee is non-refundable as it secures your date in my calendar, but I’m always happy to work with you to reschedule where possible. If you’re postponing and I’m available on your new date, we’ll simply move the booking over—no extra charge. If I’m already booked, I’ll do my best to help you find a trusted photographer who matches my style.
It’s super simple—drop me a message via the contact form or email me at [email protected]. A signed contract and a deposit secures your date!
I ask for a £250 deposit to secure your booking, this locks the date in my calendar. The remainder then isn't due until 4 weeks before your big day.
As soon as you’ve set a date! Popular summer weekends can book up 12–18 months in advance, so the earlier the better.
Yes! I’m based in Aberdeen but happily travel across Scotland (and beyond!). Travel within 100 miles is included—anything further can be arranged with a small fee to cover costs.
You’ll receive a carefully curated gallery of at least 500 edited images (for full-day coverage). Every photo is hand-edited by me to reflect the tone and style you see on my website.
You’ll get a sneak peek within 48 hours, and your full gallery will be ready within 4–6 weeks. I never rush the editing process—it’s all about quality and storytelling.
I love bright and colourful photos, my approach is super relaxed, fun, and documentary in nature—photographing genuine moments as they unfold. I focus on storytelling and capturing your day as it was. I want you to look back and feel your wedding day, not just see it.
Absolutely. While I capture most of the day candidly, I’m always happy to set aside time for any group shots or couple portraits you’d like. I’ll guide you through them quickly and naturally, so you’re not away from your guests for too long.
