Sally Rawlins Photography

We booked Sally before we had even confirmed our wedding venue. We wanted to make sure we chose the right person to capture our day in a way we could remember it, for the day it was, for the rest of our married lives. A lot of research went into finding the right person and when we stumbled upon Sally's photos we knew she was the one for us. We are a couple who cringe at having photos taken and were dreading having to pose awkwardly on our wedding day. Sally's candid photography style eliminates those staged looking shots, she manages to captures the essence of a moment in a photo which is exactly what we wanted for our day. We first met her at our pre-wedding photo shoot. We weren't sure about a location but fortunately she had lots of ideas for us and was happy to make suggestions. We ended up in a gorgeous setting and she somehow knew all the little nooks and crannies that we would never have known existed and that looked amazing in our photos. We were so nervous about the photo shoot and, as we drove to meet Sally, we were discussing how we couldn't wait to get it over and done with! When we met her, Sally put us at ease right away. She had us laughing the entire time and knew exactly the right things to say to get us feeling natural and relaxed. We ended up loving it! The photos looked incredible and we knew we had absolutely made the right choice choosing her for our wedding day. On the day, Sally arrived and chatted briefly to me and my bridal party, explaining what the day would entail and reassuring us that she was going to work as unobtrusively as possible and that we likely wouldn't even know she was there most of the day! This turned out to be true - in fact, for most of the day we didn't even notice she was there. Sally worked in a way that let the day flow naturally around her, with no interruptions to ours our our guests' experience. At times during the day, emotions were very high. I was really anxious about walking up the aisle and Sally knew exactly what to say to put me at ease - I was so grateful for that. Sally felt like more than a photographer in moments like that, she was a friend. There were also times where she confidently took charge and guided us through aspects of the day we truly had no idea about. She was calm and in control and had the answers to everything. She is clearly a woman who lives and breathes weddings and this is exactly what you need on a day when so much is going on and there are so many people to organise. I have to mention one moment that stands our for me and Charlie on our wedding day. After our wedding breakfast, Sally suggest we go and try something a bit wacky and we went and had some photos in the sunken bathtub at our venue. It had us hysterically laughing, just the three of us, and it was the perfect break from the intensity of the busy wedding day. We can't say enough good things about Sally. She's a pro at what she does and she is an absolute gem of a person to be around. If you're considering Sally for your wedding, just do it! You will not regret it. Sally, you're awesome! I'm so glad we found Sally at an open day we visited where we were to later choose as our venue. From the get-go I felt comfortable in Sally's company. When we had our pre wedding shoot, my now husband and I were both quite nervous as it's not natural for us to be centre of attention but Sally made the shoot a fun experience and didn't mind at all when a got the giggles! Sally hugely contributed to our wedding being the amazing day it was. It was lovely having her and Emma alongside us throughout the day and as a result we have a fantastic collection of images and memories we shall treasure forever. Thank you so much

We first met Sally last summer, ahead of our wedding booked for April 2016. She came across as a warm, easy going person and someone who enjoys photography passionately. We instantly liked her and her style of photography. We next met up in November for our “Engagement shoot” at the old railway station in Rayne. It was a beautiful, but windy day. The location was perfect and Sally really made us feel at ease having our photos taken. We actually both really enjoyed it!! It also gave her a chance to see how we were in front of the camera and the photos were fab!! As we got nearer to the wedding date we spoke more and Sally even came up to the venue, Houchins in Coggeshall, to have a look around and meet the team from Houchins. I had already filled in a form, giving Sally details of various family members and photos which we wanted. We had opted for a few staged pictures but for the vast majority we wanted natural photographs. On the day itself Sally was brilliant. When she needed to get the photographs we had asked for she managed to get everybody together and was very patient. After the staged photos were taken we barely noticed she was even there! We received our memory stick with our edited photos on roughly 2 weeks after the wedding, we then had our honeymoon and after which we decided to order a photo album from Sally. We were able to choose the colour and fabric of the album. We were happy to allow Sally to pick the photos to go in the album, (I think we selected 10 which we definitely wanted) and once Sally had chosen the photos she wanted to use she gave us the opportunity to double check we were happy with her choice, which we were, the album is absolutely beautiful!! We will without hesitation recommend Sally to anyone who needs a photographer. We are both genuinely sad that we may not get to meet with her again! Thank you Sally for being so fantastic, you have given us the most amazing reminders of our beautiful day!!

We recently had Sally shoot our intimate wedding at Fennes having been a fan of her style of natural photography. With there only being 14 of us she made everyone feel really comfortable and most of the time we didn't even realise she was there as she was snapping away in the background. The photography completely speaks for itself and she has completely captured the happiness and emotion of the best day of our lives. We would highly recommend Sally for your special day too.

We asked Sally to be our wedding photographer after the initial meeting because we clicked immediately, favouring the same candid style for photos and, having looked at her gallery we knew Sally was the perfect photographer for her. After a morning spent trampling through foggy woodland for our pre wedding shoot and lots of laughs we finally got to our wedding day on 12th May this year! From the minute she arrived Sally knew what she needed to get me the perfect photos of my day and, although she is still busy editing our photos (probably because she took so many and stayed above and beyond the time I expected her and her assistant to into the evening!) the ones I have seen have only made me more excited to receive the rest. I cannot recommend Sally highly enough, she listened when we had had enough of couple shots meaning the choice really is up to you on how you want your day captured! Thanks again for your hard work!

Sally made my wife and my special day amazing! So eloquently organised and incredibly subtle, barely noticed her there throughout (excluding the group photo’s) where she managed everybody fantastically)) Sally and Emma were fantastic and we just can’t wait for the photos to be developed, thank you both so much!

I cannot tell you how pleased I was when I stumbled across Sally when looking for a wedding photographer. She is the most loveliest, bubbly yet professional person you could ever meet. She makes you feel at complete ease in front of the camera and her photos speak for themselves. She takes beautiful, relaxed natural pictures that will be treasured forever. I first met Sally on our pre wedding shoot in a muddy park after it had just poured with rain one autumns day. Lucky for us the sun then started to shine. Looking around at the bleak twiggy backdrop I worried that it may be a terrible set for our special photos...how wrong was I! Sally's eye for photography and detail is amazing and our photos were absolutely stunning. Then to our wedding day...Sally provided us with 2 photographers, herself and Emma. Your big day.... this is where Sally goes in to stealth mode, where she blends seamlessly with your guests and surroundings. You are only reminded of her presence when you listen carefully for the continuous clicks! Yet when you need or want her you are met with a beaming smile and a helpful hand. I can not recommend Sally enough as a photographer. She managed to capture every little part of our amazing day and we are left with the most beautiful of memories.
