FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

It’s hard to choose just one — every wedding I capture carries its own magic. But one that stands out featured an intimate outdoor ceremony where the couple’s young son walked his mum down the aisle. That moment was pure emotion — raw, heartfelt, and beautifully unscripted. I live for the unexpected, soul-stirring moments like that, and they remind me why I love what I do.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

My photography style is best described as emotive, creative, timeless, professional, and thoughtful. I’m passionate about capturing genuine emotion and crafting visual stories that stand the test of time. With a meticulous approach and an eye for detail, I ensure each image is not only beautifully composed but deeply personal. Whether it’s a wedding, event, or collaboration, I aim to create meaningful memories with a blend of artistry and authenticity.

What about your business are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of the way Sagoo Photography has grown with purpose — not just as a creative outlet, but as a platform for connection, storytelling, and community support. What started with a single gifted camera has evolved into a professional journey grounded in authenticity and heart. Whether it’s helping small businesses elevate their brand or documenting the emotion of a wedding day, the greatest reward is knowing the images I create truly matter to someone. That impact — personal, emotional, and lasting — is what I’m proud to stand behind every time I pick up the camera.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Choose a venue not just for its aesthetics, but for how it works with your photographer. Natural light, flexible layouts, and space to move freely can make a world of difference in the final images. Chat early with your photographer to walk through the venue's photo opportunities and timeline flow — it helps ensure your vision comes to life beautifully, without stress. Great photography thrives on thoughtful planning.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

One of the most memorable personal touches I’ve seen was a couple who handwrote heartfelt letters to each guest and placed them at their table setting. As people arrived at the reception, you could see them quietly reading, smiling, tearing up — it turned the whole room into a shared, emotional experience. That level of thoughtfulness and intimacy is exactly what transforms a wedding from beautiful to unforgettable.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Every couple’s journey is unique, and I tailor my process to reflect that. We start with a relaxed consultation where I learn about your story, style, and wedding plans. From there, I build a photography timeline that works seamlessly with your day, making room for spontaneity and emotion. On the wedding day, I capture moments candidly and quietly, while also guiding you through key portraits with calm confidence. Afterward, you’ll receive a sneak peek of images within days, followed by your full gallery of beautifully edited photographs — crafted to let you relive the joy, the laughter, and the quiet little glances that made your day truly yours.

What is the No.1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The one photo I believe every couple should take is the quiet moment alone, just after the ceremony — that first chance to exhale and be together, away from the crowd. Whether it’s a walk through the venue gardens, a stolen rooftop kiss, or a lingering glance under golden light, it’s raw, unscripted, and intensely personal. That’s often where the magic hides — in the stillness before the celebration sweeps them back in.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

One of the most original requests was a styled portrait of a bride perched elegantly on a vintage chair, applying lip gloss in full bridal glam. It was simple yet cinematic — a quiet moment turned editorial. We lit it like a beauty campaign, and it became one of her favourite images. I love capturing personal rituals that feel effortlessly iconic.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Don’t fear the rain — embrace it. Overcast skies provide beautiful, even light for photography, and a touch of drizzle can create stunning, cinematic shots (think umbrellas, reflections, and romantic movement). I always bring weatherproof gear and scout backup indoor spots at the venue for key moments. If rain is forecast, chat with your photographer early and keep elegant umbrellas or clear covers on hand. Some of the most memorable images I’ve taken were under grey skies — it adds mood, intimacy, and unexpected beauty.

Describe how you got into photography.

My journey into photography began with a gift — a camera from my wife for our 10-year anniversary. I’d spent nearly 20 years in Marketing directing shoots in the corporate world, but holding that camera sparked something personal. I was hooked from the first click. Since then, I’ve trained with incredible, award winning mentors and built Sagoo Photography into a space for creativity, connection, and storytelling. What started as a thoughtful gesture turned into a career built on emotion and artistry — and I haven’t looked back.
