What is your most memorable wedding?
Drumtochty Castle. It was just such a magical destination wedding for the couple, a true fairytale wedding. Both partners tried to surprise the other with a wedding band they'd had secretly made, they laughed their way through the ceremony they were so happy, taking their photo was an absolute dream, and they had a choreographed First Dance, plus we had the most magical creative backlit session to end their day's photography.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

What about your business are you most proud of?
That through my business I've planted a small woodlands of trees through my Trees for Life grove. For several years now, I plant a tree for every wedding I book. I'm so proud to be making a small different to Scotland's landscape. From 2024 onwards, I have decided to double my rewilding efforts and plant 2 trees for every booking.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Plan a day that you'll enjoy, not to impress. The best weddings are full of authentic moments where people are brought together naturally to celebrate you. Think about what your guests will enjoy to take part in or see, not what you think might impress them.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
The bride commissioned a jeweller to make the groom's bespoke wedding band - it was a top secret surprise. Except he'd had the same idea and we had 2 top secret wedding bands to keep hidden for the ceremony!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I want to learn more about your day, what's important to you, what kind of vibe you are going for. We'll have a quick chat before you book, then once you've secured your date you'll have access to my Client Zone for tips, planning & guides. We'll have 2-3 pre-wedding planning calls before your day, so by the time your day comes around I'll know your timeline off by heart. Galleries are delivered 4-6 weeks later, often earlier.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Golden hour! Golden hour! Golden hour! And failing that, a second couples portraits session for summer evening light as often in Scotland sunset is too late on in the evening. These are very often the best shots of the day and they do have a different vibe to your day reception sets. You are full of good food, fizz and happiness - that beams through every smile. It's golden, pun intended.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Most of the creative direction comes from myself, but I did have a bridesmaid recently ask me to photograph the set of medication the bride was taking. She got a tooth infection 2 days before her wedding, and was powering through on antibiotics & painkillers. Hats off to her!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Get a brolly! Sometimes a little rain can totally make your photos. The light that comes just after a rain shower is particularly beautiful - there's rainbows, lovely reflections in puddles and water droplets on flagstones patios. If it's torrential rain though, then let's go to a beautiful staircase at your venue, a lovely bay window for natural lighting - there's always somewhere indoors where we can still take great photos.
Describe how you got into photography.
My career in photography started as my dad's tripod aged around 4/5 - back in the days of film! I quickly graduated to actually holding the camera and went on to win a number of national competitions for my landscape photos at High School. While I was studying electronic engineering at university, I specialised in microelectronics and started an internship at an imagining firm. Not only did I learn exactly how digital camera sensors work, I was actually involved in making some!
