What is your most memorable wedding?
Oh gosh, I love them all! I've photographed at stately homes and even Twycross Zoo. One that sticks out was starting at a small registry office with beautiful grounds and moving on to a micro-brewery, where the bride was adamant I tried the local ice cream and have my face painted! If you didn't know the couple well I could have passed for a member of their family it was such a relaxed day. Their photos were amazing - see the sunflower bouquet and camper van images!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Quirky, fun, modern, relaxed and non-intrusive!
What about your business are you most proud of?
My relaxed style meaning that my clients treat me like family!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
When it comes to photography, meet your photographer first! You would not want to be stuck being followed by someone you can't stand all day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A winter time wedding with beautiful grounds having fireworks in the evening. They had warm blankets for guests to use for sitting/wrapping over them in order to stay warm but still enjoy the special moments.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Most initial contact comes via email, I will get the couple to fill out a form which has specific details such as the wedding date and requirements. This way I know whether i'm available for their date and if i'd be a suitable fit for the bride and groom. From this we will then arrange an in-person consultation, usually at your venue, to discuss in detail your day and to go through the contract together. This gives us a chance to get to know each other so there are no awkward moments on your big day.
We will stay in touch in the lead up to your wedding day, making each other aware of any changes to the order of the day. On the day of the wedding, I will follow requests given during the consultation and those required on the day (where possible), ensuring everything is to your satisfaction before leaving the venue. After your wedding, I will pop a preview of one of my favourite photographs from the day. Giving you your online viewing gallery within three months of your wedding date to chose your final photographs.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A photograph of the two of you, alone, away from any other prying eyes. This gives you your personal moment to take everything in.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Photographs feeding the otters, granted I were at a Zoo wedding!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Wellies and an umbrella! Don't be scared to get a little wet, rain photos look amazing!
Describe how you got into photography.
I've always been a creative soul, whether it was paper crafts or taking videos/photographs on my dads old camcorder as a kid! I pursued it through college and went on to get a Bachelor of the Arts Degree in Photography & Video too!
