One where an RAF Sea King Helicopter flew above a lake in Wales to salute the groom, who was a decorated pilot. A seriously emotional and unforgettable moment!
Elegant, classic, beautiful, spectacular
My anticipation of natural light to ensure my clients look incredible, and my dedication to ensuring that I cover every detail of the day from start to finish, and that means right until the end of the day!
Always ask to see a complete wedding from a photographer, not just the portfolio. It is the complete set of images that you will receive after all.
When the groom arranged a performance of Les Miserable by opera singers as a complete for the bride, the whole reception stood for an ovation, such a beautiful and unforgettable touch.
I always like to meet first before a booking, to ensure that we have a great fit, and that we know that working together is going to be amazing. This relationship is essential, and we build on this through the pre-wedding shoot, and further meetings as required, so that on the day everything just flows seamlessly. On the day I photograph quietly, through observation, not orchestration. It is the couple's day after all, and my focus is upon documenting everything as it happens.
The photo which they weren't expecting, but which perfectly sums up their day! I don't like to be too prescriptive, it is down to personal taste. But it has to be one where the couple feel totally at ease with each other, and totally happy. Trust your photographer, and for me I will always seek that one shot which shows the couple in the place they have chosen to get married, in the most magical light I can find.
If I am being asked to take a particular photo, then perhaps it isn't that original, but I certainly get asked to capture certain moments, which I then interpret in my own style Perhaps my favourite so far has been a first dance high in the lake District Mountains at sunset, I haven't seen this anywhere else.
Relax, and enjoy the day, as the rain really doesn't make a difference, just carry on! Rainy days produced the most beautiful soft light, and the reflections are incredible. Don't necessarily see rain as a bad thing, a great photographer will know how to take the best shots, and you probably won't remember it was even raining at all!
I picked up a camera at the age of 5, and have never looked back. It is my passion, and why I exist. If I am not shooting a wedding, I can be found somewhere else, taking photos of other things. Photographing a wedding is not a job for me, it is what I love, and I feel this really comes through in my work.
