It was during the summer of 2020, when a young couple decided they just wanted to get married despite all their wedding plans being ruined due to the social restrictions. It was held outside the church, with only their parents and the pastor, and me! It was so intimate and had the feel of an elopement wedding, and in the darkness of the Covid pandemic, this light of true love shone.
Relaxed, attentive, fun, professional, approachable
I make every effort to ensure my clients have a fun, relaxing and memorable experience with me.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. It’s your day, so you have to be content that you know what is happening. And as the old adage goes, There are no silly questions. For me, communication is key to providing you the images you want.
I always meet with my clients as soon as is possible, I want them to get to know me and to feel that they have made the right decision in hiring me. I make sure I get all their details, including who is in the main wedding party. I explain the way I normally work, with my main objective being that I fully understand what they are expecting from me. This is the first of several conversations I have with my clients before the special day.
I always go to the venue before hand to scope put the location and to hopefully meet with the key staff. Planning is key for me, as it allows me to ensure I have multiple photo possibilities organised. It also ensures I take up the least amount of time to photograph the couple.
A bride wanted a quirky style, so I took them to a subway in Belfast to photograph them with the graffiti. Knowing the couple’s story I want it to be representative of what the couple had gone through in 2020, ie going through a tunnel together no matter what was around with it strengthening their relationship.
I always bring beautiful white wedding umbrellas, and I always have a wet weather plan specific to the wedding venue.
That’s a long story, but in one sentence, I have always loved capturing special moments so people viewing the photograph can travel back in their mind’s eye to that event.
