My photography style is relaxed, natural and effortless. If you want amazing photographs while still having a relaxed, chilled day, then I'm the photographer for you. I cover most of the day naturally as it happens and when I do need to set things up like family photos or shots of the two of you together I do this in a very natural, effortless way.

What is your approach to wedding photography?
My style is all about helping couples feel comfortable being themselves and truly enjoying their wedding day. I gently guide you when needed, but always in a subtle, unobtrusive way, allowing the day to unfold naturally while I capture special moments as they happen. With more than 25 years of experience, I know when to step in and when to fade into the background.
What's the best advice you can offer a couple before their wedding?
The best advice I give to couples is to carefully choose your suppliers and then relax and enjoy the day. As your photographer, it’s my role to ensure all the important moments are captured while quietly helping things run smoothly from start to finish.
Are you very hands on or do you prefer to be in the background?
For most of the day, I work very much behind the scenes. Many couples tell me afterward that they hardly noticed I was photographing them. Even when I need to organise a shot, I keep everything calm and informal so it never feels forced or rushed.
How did you start as a photographer?
I began my career photographing professional theatre and opera for many of Scotland’s leading companies. That background taught me how to anticipate moments, work discreetly, and compose images quickly without interrupting what’s happening.
Can you choose a favourite wedding?
Choosing a single standout wedding is difficult, as every couple and every celebration is completely unique. What I love most is capturing what makes each one special. One particularly memorable experience was photographing an elopement beside a loch, with only the couple, the celebrant, and her assistant present. As they needed an additional witness, I was honoured to step into that role as well. Being part of such a personal and intimate moment was incredibly special.
What are you drawn to as a photographer?
I’m drawn to real expressions and emotions — from quiet nerves and smiles in the morning, to the anticipation of walking down the aisle and the joy of returning as a married couple. During the couple’s photo session, I focus on authenticity. I’ll choose the setting and lighting, then encourage you to share a quiet moment together while I capture those genuine interactions.
