Hi there, we're Rhod and Naomi and we'd love to help tell your unique wedding story :)
We're a bit different because we don’t just photograph and film weddings — we literally write the story of your wedding day!

We’re a husband and wife team based in Bristol, and long before cameras were part of our lives, story came first. We actually met over 20 years ago on a story-writing course, later both earning degrees in English Literature, so shaping a story is second nature to us.
We first crossed paths outside Swansea University halls in 2007, a local Welsh boy and a posh English girl, and we’ve been adventuring together ever since. From swimming with whale sharks in Mexico to peering into volcanoes in Nicaragua, travel taught us how powerful it is to capture life as it really feels.
These days, you’ll usually find us with our son Dylan (who never stops singing) and our tortoise, Willis, doing what we love most: telling beautiful, honest stories through photos, film and the written word.

Every wedding we’re part of is completely unique, but it’s the story of how you got there that matters most to us.
Some of our favourite images aren’t the obvious big moments. They’re the quiet ones that feel like blurbs on the back of a book, the kind that make you want to turn the page and know more. The mum fiddling with the bride’s wedding dress or the groom welling up as he turns around in the aisle, about to see his future wife. Those moments are where your story lives.

Why are we called Rialto?
The best photographs and films don’t aim for perfection, they aim to capture a precious moment.
Rialto Weddings was born from my proposal to Naomi on the Rialto Bridge in Venice (I had to push the boat as it took me ten years!) The photo itself is far from perfect: it’s grainy, Naomi is sobbing uncontrollably, and I forgot to take off my sunglasses. But it’s still the image we treasure most, because it feels real. It tells the story of that moment exactly as it was.
That way of thinking underpins everything we do.

We believe your wedding visuals should do more than look beautiful (though they absolutely will). They should tell the story of who you are and how you came to be.
From vows and speeches to fleeting glances and background moments, we curate your gallery like chapters in a book, with a beginning, a rhythm, and an ending that feels complete. Your wedding isn’t just documented; it’s carefully written and thoughtfully illustrated.

Do you offer multi-day coverage?
Yes — if you’re planning a weekend celebration or a destination wedding abroad, we can capture the full experience: from the welcome drinks to the morning-after brunch. Multi-day coverage is quoted individually, depending on the itinerary and location.
What happens if it rains?
One of our favourite weddings we captured poured down with rain (honest- you can check out our umbrella portfolio!) We always have a wet weather plan in case it does which includes us being relentlessly positive ☺
How much is the deposit?
The deposit is usually 10% of the package cost with the remaining 90% payable before your wedding. We’re flexible though and can arrange separate payment plans- especially if your date is longer away in the future. One the deposit is paid, we will not take any further booking for your date.
Who is coming to our wedding?
Rhodri is always present at weddings capturing a combination of photo and film. Naomi helps organise, plan and edit all weddings and attends most ‘The Rialto’ package weddings. Where she is not available, we work with a team of brilliant photographers (including a BAFTA winning documentary maker!) who help to bring your vision to life.
What do you wear on our day?
We know some vendors who dress in all black- we think that makes people stand out like a sore thumbs! We dress formally, think blazers, waistcoats and dresses (don’t worry never white!) but always ask the question to you first. Black tie? No problem, we’ll jump in a tuxedo and ball gown. Rhodri tends to prefer the tuxedo than ball gown though…
What happens if you’re ill?!
This is a really common question we know couples often worry about this! If any member of the team were to have a serious illness on your wedding day, we have a network of photographers and videographers we often work with who would be able to step in to help fully capture your story.
Can we use our images to print our own albums?
Yes of course – all images are fully edited and are provided in full resolution without any watermarks for couples. You can use these as you wish for personal use.
Do you take ages when taking group photos?
Simply no- we want you to have fun and live out your dream day- not stand in a line for an hour when you could be sipping a wine. For most of our weddings, group photographs take no longer than 15 minutes, and couple shots take around 15-20 minutes before the meal, and maybe 10-20 minutes out of your evening reception (fingers crossed for a gorgeuous sunset.). This means that you and your guests get plenty of time to enjoy your day and party!
How long until we get our wedding media?
We know you’ll want to get your hands on the photos and films as soon as possible, that’s why we aim to have a photo preview within 3 days (most likely before). Full photo and clip delivery is then within a month followed by the social media preview in 6 weeks. If you choose a package with film highlights (woohoo!) then this will take up to 18 weeks. We don’t want to rush something we hope you’ll treasure for the rest of your life!
Do you travel?
Yes we love to travel for weddings! Our standard pricing covers locations within the UK, but we are more than happy to travel right across the UK and internationally. Travel and accommodation (where required) will be charged at a reasonable rate – please get in touch to discuss further if you are looking to book a destination wedding
