What is your most memorable wedding?
All of them for different reasons! Every wedding is unique and holds a special place in my heart (corny but true!)
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, candid, creative, fun, emotive!
What about your business are you most proud of?
That I am driven, passionate and hard working. Also, my honesty and dedication to my couples. I do everything I can to make sure they have the best memories and I exceed expectation.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do your wedding your way. If you want a cardboard cutout of Cliff Richard, you bloomin well get one! (Yes, I have had a couple who had a cardboard cut out of Cliff at their wedding).
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I'm not sure I would call it a favourite, but it's one that has stayed with me. A groom once had some cufflinks made with his late mum's ashes inside.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I always like to meet couples before they book me. It's so important that we 'click' (pardon the pun!) and are on the same page, after all I am going to be by your side on one of the most important days of your lives. I often suggest meeting at your wedding venue. The booking process then goes like this:
1. A deposit is paid along with signing of the contract. This secures your date.
2. I send out an initial questionnaire covering the details of the day, timings (if known), important contacts, special surprises etc.
3. If you have agreed to an engagement shoot, we get a date in the diary. This then of course takes place any time between now and the wedding.
4. More questionnaires will follow. I like to get as much detail as possible so I can start planning and brainstorming for your big day.
5. The final balance is paid 6 weeks before your wedding date.
6. We have one last meeting or video call to go through final details.
7. I am available at any time of day in the run up to your wedding if you have any questions or just want to bend my ear about anything wedding related (or otherwise!). As well as your photographer I consider myself your friend, confidant, therapist haha!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A golden hour couples portrait. These are so special, couples portraits are a chance for you as a married couple to tear yourselves away from your wedding guests for a few minutes. Sunsets are romantic and always memorable. What's more awesome than a sunset on your wedding day? You won't forget that right?!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Bride holding her Ostomy bag, which had a name by the way, 'Myrtel'. I'm not joking.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Clear umbrellas. It's an obvious one but they can make for such cute photos, especially bridesmaids.
Describe how you got into photography.
I fell in love with photography in collage. For some reason I didn't take it up as a career until later in life but I have always had a passion, in particular for photographing people. Problem was I never had the guts to go up to people in the street and ask. This job allows me to do what I love, without the awkwardness! Because it is what I am paid to do :)
