At Rachel Burt Photography, we specialize in creating vibrant, relaxed, and non-traditional wedding images for fun-loving couples. Based in Southport, Merseyside, Rachel has a talent for helping even the most camera-shy feel completely at ease. This ensures your wedding photos truly reflect your personalities and the unique spirit of your day. Think of Rachel as an honorary guest or an extra bridesmaid—someone who blends in seamlessly while capturing incredible moments.
If cheesy poses and forced smiles aren’t your style, you’re in the right place. Rachel’s approach centers on capturing the real, unscripted moments that make your wedding day special. From beaming smiles and belly laughs to heartfelt tears and unforgettable dance-offs, every genuine emotion is documented. Most of the day is shot in a documentary style—quiet, unobtrusive, and natural—so your photos will transport you back to those joyful moments every time you look at them.
This style is perfect if you’re planning a wedding that breaks from tradition and focuses on having an amazing celebration. Whether you’re hosting a city party, a festival wedding in a field, or an intimate elopement, Rachel embraces couples who want to do things their own way.
With experience capturing over 300 weddings since 2017, Rachel Burt Photography offers a professional, passionate service. Rachel travels across the UK to tell unique love stories through her lens—ready to capture your unforgettable day exactly as it happens.
All of my weddings are memorable in their own way, but the one that sticks in my head right now is parading through Liverpool City Centre with Genevieve & Matt, dancing in the street with all their guests to the amazing musical stylings of their brass band. Such a good day!
Fun, documentary, relaxed, alternative and colourful!
Every last bit of it! My business is my baby, and I've built it up from nothing, into an incredible, thriving business in less than five years. Having shot well over 100 amazing couples, I've made friends for life, and take great pride in capturing amazing memories that they will enjoy throughout their lives together. It's an absolute privilege to be invited into a couple's wedding, and I love every last minute of it.
Do it your way. Nothing is too 'you', and don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something. Your wedding should reflect the two of you as a couple, not a picture perfect, cookie-cutter ideal. Rock your day, your way!
I love it when couples include their personalities in their day- one of my favourites was when Lizzie & Lee included their love of skiing and snowboarding in their day, including an alpine themed cake, ski resort table names and even a shot ski- a ski with two shot glasses attached, which when they drank from them together revealed "Mr & Mrs Inkpin" underneath!
I like to have a video call with my couples during the booking process so that we can have a good chinwag and get to know each other- as you might be spending a big chunk of your wedding day with me, it's super important that you get to know me and feel comfortable. Then, you'll recieve a digital booking pack from me, as well as a lovely welcome pack through the post.
Between booking and the big day, we'll chat lots- I'm always on hand for advice, recommendations or just as a sounding board! The next time I'll 'officially' be in touch is 8-10 weeks before your wedding. I send over a questionnaire to plan in all the logistics of the day, and we'll plan in another video call to chat about everything together so that on the day itself you don't have to worry about a thing!
After the wedding you'll receive some lovely previews within a few days, and then your full gallery will be with you in around 4-6 weeks.
Again, every couple is different and there are no rules! But I think all couples should take 15 minutes away from their guests to have a couples session- it gives you chance to catch up. Have a cuddle and decompress away from prying eyes. Plus you get some lovely shots of just you two!
Ohhh sooo many! I've been out for tractor rides with couples, climbed mountains, headed to the beach... i've even had the entire wedding party climb on tables to get an epic shot under an unexpected rainbow! I'm up for anything. You name it, I'll shoot it.
Don't sweat it- I'll always find a way to get you some awesome shots! And buy an umbrella, just in case.
I've always been a creative type, studying Contemporary Applied Arts at Cumbria Institute of The Arts (Now University of Cumbria), and embarking on a career in Textiles, before spending many years teaching. I first picked up a camera to photograph my little brood, but got 'hooked' on capturing the joy on people's faces, leading me to decide on weddings and events as a focus. My husband bought me my first 'proper' camera (along with an uncharacteristically romantic post-it note stating "My best investment x", and the rest, as they say, is history!
