What is your most memorable wedding?
Returning to The Green for Jess & Ben's wedding, 7 years after I married my husband there. Jess and Ben laughed SO much, all day long and it was a truly wonderful day from start to finish!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, relaxed, heartfelt, detailed, unobtrusive.
What about your business are you most proud of?
The wonderful comments that I get from my clients about how beautiful their images are and how much they enjoyed having me as their photographer!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Take ten minutes at some point in the day to have some time just as the two of you! Usually after the ceremony, otherwise you'll be so busy talking to your lovely guests that you wont get a chance! It also gives me the chance to take some photos (from a distance) of you just being you!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love anything that has been passed down from previous generations. I am a sucker for keepsakes. However, Nat & Tom's butterfly release was an incredibly special moment!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once you have enquired, I can answer any questions that you may have and I also like to get a bit of an idea of you both as a couple. Once you decide to take the plunge, its a £175 deposit to secure your date and I will send you a contract at the same time.
Around a month before your wedding, I will get in contact again with a questionnaire of all of the details of your big day and to book in a pre-wedding consultation to discuss all of these details. Some couples like to have a pre-wedding shoot either to have some photos to remember their engagement by or to use as imagery for their invitations etc. These pre-wedding shoots also give you a chance to test what it is like to be in front of the camera and what it is like to work with me... always good fun!! Well I think so anyway!! These pre-wedding shoots start at £150 and are well worth their money!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Just some photos of the two of you with no distractions! Not even me! I do love a sparker shot though!!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I have been asked to replicate the Abbey Road zebra crossing photo at a wedding next year. Even though it is a while away yet, I am constantly playing it around in my mind as although I love the photo although I need to make it my own and as natural as possible to stay true to my style of photography.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
There is always a sheltered spot that we can find somewhere on location. It is hard not to get disheartened with the weather but actually sometimes the greyest, bleakest days can make some of the best photos!
Describe how you got into photography.
With a degree in photography way back in 2009, it took until I had my own children to realise how much I love turning the most special moments in time into pictures that can be treasured forever. How lucky am I, that my job is to capture these moments for you, as they happen, using natural light and beautiful moments that appear right in front of me. I can capture all of the big and small moments in your wedding day, and almost everything in between!
