Simon Delon Photography: The Story of Your Wedding Day
Based in Hinckley, on the edge of Leicestershire, Simon Delon Photography is a premier wedding photography service dedicated to capturing the essence and emotion of your special day. Led by the experienced photographer Simon, the studio specialises in creating a timeless and beautiful visual narrative of your celebration.
The approach is a sophisticated blend of documentary storytelling and creative portraiture. Throughout the day, Simon works unobtrusively, capturing the candid moments, genuine laughter, and heartfelt connections as they naturally unfold. This allows you and your guests to remain fully present and enjoy every second, confident that the memories are being preserved with an expert eye. For couples who may feel apprehensive in front of the camera, his relaxed and friendly manner ensures a comfortable experience, resulting in photographs that truly reflect your personalities.
In addition to this reportage style, dedicated time, if you so choose, can also be taken to create artfully composed portraits of you as a couple.
Images you will be proud to display, capturing your love in a creative and elegant way.
From the quiet anticipation of the morning preparations to the joyous energy of the evening reception, Simon Delon Photography is committed to telling the complete story of your wedding. The final collection of images serves as more than just a record; it is a heartfelt and artistic heirloom that will allow you to relive the feeling and atmosphere of your day for a lifetime. While based in Leicestershire, commissions are undertaken across the Midlands and throughout the UK and for destination weddings abroad.
My approach is natural, documentary-style wedding photography. I focus on real moments as they happen, with a relaxed and unobtrusive presence. I’ll guide you when needed (especially for portraits), but I never want the day to feel staged or interrupted.
Absolutely. Most couples feel that way at first. I keep things easy, relaxed and low-pressure, and I’ll guide you with simple prompts rather than awkward posing. The goal is for you to enjoy yourselves, not perform for the camera.
Yes — and it’s a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day. It also helps you get used to how I work, so on the day everything feels natural and familiar.
I’m very organised with group shots and keep them efficient. If you can provide a short list to me and maybe to one of your groomsmen in advance to help gather the groups together, I’ll work through it quickly and calmly, so you can get back to enjoying your drinks and guests as soon as possible.
Both. Most of the day I shoot candid documentary-style, but I’ll also take you for a short portrait session to create beautiful, flattering images of the two of you. It’s relaxed, natural, and doesn’t take over your day.
No stress — I’m very used to British weather! Rain can actually create some of the most atmospheric, romantic photos. I’ll always have a plan, work with the venue’s best indoor spots, and if we get a dry gap we’ll take advantage of it. As a professional I also often keep lights in my vehicle in case they come in handy for any unplanned scenarios.
It depends on your coverage and the flow of the day, but typically you’ll receive a strong, carefully edited set that tells the story properly — from the big moments to the little in-between ones. The scope for photography is different at every venue and wedding. I include just a rough guide to this within each package, but still you may get more than these estimates. I focus on quality, variety, and storytelling rather than just sending thousands of near-identical shots.
You’ll receive your full gallery within an agreed timeframe (usually within just 3 weeks depending on the season, sometimes as little as just 1 week). I can also provide a small preview selection shortly after the wedding so you have something lovely to share while you wait.
Yes — I’m just based on the edge of Leicestershire in Hinckley. So I cover all of the Midlands and surrounding counties more than I do just Leicestershire, but I’m also happy to travel across the UK and abroad. If you’re planning a destination wedding, I’m always up for an adventure.
Calm, friendly, and discreet. I blend in with your guests, keep things running smoothly where needed, and capture the day as it naturally unfolds. I’m there to help you feel comfortable, not to take over.
