Portia Crossley Photography Full Description
I encourage the bride and groom to enjoy their wedding safe in the knowledge that I will record the emotions, connections, events and the details that made their day so special. From the jittery groom before the ceremony, to the mother of the bride's tears of joy as the happy couple share a moment that seems to transcend this world. My endeavour is that nothing will be overlooked. A well crafted image will conserve those decisive moments forever. It will hold on to the spirit and glamour of the event, reviving all the details, long after they would otherwise have been lost. After the wedding I enhance the images and upload them to a password protected gallery where you can select your favourites and share them with myself and others. If you have chosen to have a CD of your images I will send this to you. If you choose to have an album I will design a Jorgensen bespoke album that tells the story of your day. Jorgensen are one of the world's finest wedding album manufacturers. They allow us total freedom of expression over cover styles and page options and the finished album will be handcrafted in Australia. The product of our shared efforts is wonderful heirloom overflowing with happy memories, emotional connections and the details that are the result of much wedding planning.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

When a shire horse took advantage of the moment a bride and her mother had a kiss...and he ate her bouquet!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Candid, Artistic, Fresh, Relaxed, Emotional

What about your business are you most proud of?

Being able to share a couples big day and give them a collection of images to treasure.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Prioritise your budget...think outside the box...not everything has to cost so much. Flowers can be bought from the market and a cake from M&S with fresh petals sprinkled over it...but after the day is gone all you will have left is the photos!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A little photo of each guest in a heart shaped photo holder as a place setting. The photos were from a random time where the friends had spent time together so they had special and often forgotten memories attached to them! Great conversation starters!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Meet for coffee to as I think a good connection with your photographer is really important. Show some albums. Discuss Wedding plans. If you think I would be right as your photographer we book the date!

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Mantle piece shot!

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Lots of the horses!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Atmospheric window shots or if you fancy braving the weather I have lots of white wedding umbrellas!

Describe how you got into photography.

I first fell in love with photography on my 7th birthday when I was given a Polaroid camera. Later on that evening at a Cantonese Restaurant I photographed the other diners and gave them the option to purchase the image to remember their special evening by! I earned myself quite a bit of pocket money that night but worth more than that was the discovery of photography. Since that time I have gained various photography and art qualifications and experience through previous work in marketing and web design. This background has all served to shape me into the photographer I am today.
